Suck it up press pool.

Journalists hoping to cover a Republican rally featuring Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Senate candidate J.D. Vance in Ohio will have to agree to give organizers access to any footage they take, and could face questions about what it will be used for.
That is among the controversial restrictions placed on journalists as a condition of receiving a press pass to cover Friday’s event, which is being organized by Turning Point Action, a conservative nonprofit led by activist Charlie Kirk.
The press policy also restricts journalists to specific events and parts of the venue, and bars them from recording speakers who do not wish to be filmed. Turning Point Action has warned that violators could be kicked out of the event.
“These are highly unusual conditions,” according to Monica Nieporte, the president and executive director of the Ohio News Media Association, which represents outlets across the state.

I'm sure the lawyers at The View are gonna have to have an extensive meeting with the hens about reacting to this event

well, can you blame him? Last time they covered Turning Point, they tried to link it to fake nazi protestors on the street outside the venue

I hate restrictions on journalist but they built this bed so they need to sleep in it. If you are going to chop up video and put particular people in an unfavorable light you have to live up to the conditions of a private event to protect themselves if you want access. Now if the courts would protect people from media mischaracterizations this probably would not be an issue but the courts have made suing media companies almost impossible, which I'm okay with.

Agree......politicians should just say "hey anyone that lies will not get an invite" then it's on them

Create 1A zones like they did in the Nevada Bundy ranch deal under Obama.... a cordoned off area 100's of yards away that may not have had line of sight of the event.

This is why conservative politicians should have their own recording of any interview.
That way they can show the context that lands on the cutting room floor.

Them having to apologize on air was a nice moment. I don't take a lot of pleasure out of people having to apologize in general but i didn't hate that.

If they were true journalist, this wouldn't be an issue.
But, for the most part, they're not journalist. They're political activists pushing agendas, not striving to objectively report the truth.

journalist
maybe a better question than, "What is a woman?"
I've only seen maybe 2 journalists in the last 10 years.

I don’t think Desantis made this rule. Turning Point appears to have done so.
Good on them. frick the dem run media.

Having proof that an interview or event was doctored or edited doesn’t help, because the people who need to see it never will. Most libs don’t know “fine people” was a hoax, because the news they watch will never publish the proof.

Hard to deceptively edit footage if there is no footage.

No issue with this…..
This seems a bit much…
