Why are documents from WW2 still classified?

Watching Tucker on UTube and at the 4-minute mark he mentions that "a large amount of material" is still classified from that era, which got me to wondering.
Like what?
Is it "sources and methods" that keeps them classified?
Is it still being investigated?
I haven't given this a lot of thought. Just throwing it out there.
Any thoughts?

Can't let the left find out that Trump is not, in fact, that fascist Hitler.

Serious question why do you think they should be declassified? Also, why do you want to know everything that our government knows or does when it comes to certain matters, such as security or technology?

It wouldn't benefit them to declassify something that goes against their "official version of history".

WW2 is the foundation myth of our modern world, when you really think about it.

Can’t let the public knew that we knew of the atrocities committed by the USSR since we backed them in the war

Not fair to answer a question with more questions. I can imagine. Can you?

We assassinated Patton.
We knew the Russians were just ad bad as the Nazis.
We did some crazy experiments on our soldiers.
Nazi scientists.
The beginning of the military complex power gain.

If you strictly look at it in engineering and operational terms there are some serious questions that come up.

because some of the tech came from aliens.

Fun fact: The Third Reich still legally exists.

Declassifying the rest of WW2 would undermine the foundations of the current world order.

Because they were never subject to a "standing order"

I’ve read investigation reports indicating Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen to generate support from the people for getting involved. Up to that point it seems the people wanted to sit that war out. I don’t know how true but it makes sense.

That is actually plausible and worthy of scrutiny. Good point.
