In my experience scouting Lake Borgne/Biloxi M area for teal.....you can ride/fish for miles and miles and not see a mottled duck, much less a teal. Then you stumble on an area and start seeing mottleds, and sure enough a few teal around.

Lease in Gibson … haven’t fired a shot. Saw about 25… could have killed 20+ wood ducks

Palmetto in a fog so thick I can’t see 100 yards. Got the only 3 that have came by so far.
That 5 minutes from when you turn on the thermocell to it getting rid of Mosquitos is pure hell.

Good to know there’s a few teal down there. Got to spray hyacinths next weekend, might head to lease on coast and see if we can get a few.

Yeah the fog is thick here too. Had a flock of 5 buzz over me from the east. I had no shot at them but the two guys on the power line about 150 yards to the southwest, hammered down on the flock. Couldn’t see if they hit any, the hunters came in around daylight with flashlights, probably from the WMA parking lot. The good news is I counted 17 wood ducks and had one lone drake land in my decoys for a couple seconds. Can’t wait to come here in November.

Bird on the Eastside (Winnie/Anahuac) have gone pretty well all nocturnal. Birds are feeding and roosting in the rice at night and getting up right before LST and shagging it to the refuge part of Anahuac NWR. I am talking thousands of teal. Some birds try to trickle back to the rice but morning shoots are kinda thin. Everybody over here is getting their best hunts during the evening when they start coming back to feed but eventually they are going to learn that lesson and start coming in after legal then too. Kinda weird honestly. Not sure if last weeks full moon started this or pressure but never seen teal do this without just shagging arse.

Pockets of birds still hanging west of Houston. Birds have moved out of Garwood area.
Had a 6 man limit his AM near East Bernard. A 13 bird rainout was a huge lift.

What state/area?
We are limping to the finish line. Still good bird numbers north of Brookshire, TX.

Made my one and only hunt this morning. 5 guns, 5 limits pretty easy. Fog had the birds laid up for a bit but once they started moving, it didn't take long to get our 30.
Brookshire area.

I sent you an email a couple weeks back did you get it by chance?

Capped a B+ teal season with an Sunday afternoon shoot in Brookshire. Temp was hot. First ever topless teal hunt.
12 hunts, 5.75 average.
Would love to hunt this week after this front.
