Heard a report blue wing drakes are feeding in Deer Park lake.

I saw a few flying above one of those ponds off i49 near Chopin earlier but it was like two flying, couldn't really look too long off the road to see if any were on the water.

I dont hunt up that way so dont track it closely, but didn't realize catahoula was so high, doesn't bode well for holding little birds that need it shallow.

Received a video of thousands of teal in a rice field near Jennings

Saw some video on Facebook today - appears rice fields in SW La are loaded. Heard Venice has a lot. Not much here in Lafourche/Terrebonne

Reports from southwest LA are getting better by the day. I think if your hunting there tomorrow morning, you’ll get your six. Good luck to all going this weekend.

That is word for the north end, not sure about other parts towards the south and western parts. Too much rain I guess. Its usually still drivable out there to a degree this time of year, at least with a four wheeler. But it is area dependent.

Can confirm--more people than birds. Per usually ratio in Venice.

Morning update - hunted Lafourche Parish - didn’t fire a shot. Saw one flock - approximately 15 teal. Have not heard a single good report yet

Venice was hit or miss. 14 in a 4 man boat. None of the boats had more than a 3 man limit. Birds were spotty and in small groups. But we made the most of it. Good times, lot of fun.

Can confirm that they are in fact off Highway 15 East of Monroe. My buddies boys and their crew who are absolutely mad at the ducks 24/7 shot 8 limits Sat and 6 today.

Good to hear that teal are indeed in the state at least.

Saturday didn't see a teal. Killed 14 yesterday and saw a good bit more.

Overall, the Gueydan area was pretty slow for opening weekend. Some people had good hunts, but many were real slow.

Killed two opening morning on catahoula. Actually saw a good many birds. I was not able to hunt sunday but reports were much much better.
