In a statement released by the school, Bible Baptist Academy said the institution is “committed to instructing and living in accordance with the teachings of Scripture.”
“This should not be interpreted that we have any hatred or malice toward them. We are just as committed to loving all people as we are to holding to Bible principles that people may not agree with or may not understand,” the statement continues.

I'm curious if the church came to the child's aid when her parents died.

Keyword is private. This to me means they can pick and choose who attends. You don’t like it go to public school.

But all they wanted is to get married and have their spouse on their insurance.

Went to a catholic school in the late 80's. Guy in my class had two moms. Softball coach haircuts. They were good people and he was well adjusted. Everything should have to pass the smell test. If the two parents are not flamboyant, indoctrinating, or perverted in any way...who gives a cotton picking frick. Any sway towards the inverse...and I support a private school's right to choose.

Lots of edgy Redditor Goth-kids and Shitlords bashing Christianity on this thread.
Ya'll should get together and smoke cigarettes and complain about your parents and wear those thick-heeled shoes and black T-shirts and brag about summoning demons and shite....
So cool, so edgy....
P.S.:
Any good deals at "Hot Topic" this week?

Christian love requires and demands repentance. We're to meet people where they are, but that does not mean we should accept their sin. It is not loving to allow people to believe they aren't going to Hell for living in sin.

As for Zoey’s schooling, Jennifer said they’ve received offers from other area Christian schools
Sounds to me like this article only makes reference to one actual Christian school. Those other places are just pretending.

When you send your child to a private school you agree to abide by their rules. Most catholic schools will not allow gay teachers or even single teachers to have a live in without being married. It is what it is feel sorry for the kid but you can’t expect a religious institution to change their beliefs

Are the parents members of the church? If not, I call bs. It’s just like the wedding cake thing, find another baker out of the hundreds in your area.
There is a lawyer somewhere behind this ploy.

Why is this a gay thing to do? (See what I did there?)
Gays know that buttfricking other dudes is an abomination to the Bible. Why do you expect them to let this in the church? There are public schools for that kind of shite. Also, there are plenty of private liberal arts school that cater to their marginalization. Why can’t you fricks be happy with dominating most of the world? Quit your poking the bear.

We as a society like to pretend men and women are just alike and interchangeable. But they’re not. A child needs a mother and a father. Not a mother & no father, not a father and no mother. And for sure not two mothers or fathers. Virtually everything wrong in our society goes bs k to children being raised in homes without either a mother or more usually a father.

Some Christians believe they would be welcoming the wrath of God upon themselves and their school if they accepted this child. Its that simple. They dont take any agency over their decision if they believe they are doing what God instructs them to do. I'm not saying that is what this pastor believes. He may being more pragmatic in his thinking.

I'm sure the school received push back from parents about this situation. This is a fundamentalist Christian school in a small LA town, and lesbian parents probably don't make up a large number of the PTA.
It really is a blessing in disguise for this girl. She would likely not be received well by these families (birthday parties, sleepovers, etc.) and the adoptive moms surely wouldn't be. In addition, the school actively teaches the "truth of the Bible" (their words). This girl would feel awkward in that scenario.
I know it's hard to believe for some, but many people view homosexuality as an egregious sin against God. If people want to send their children to a private, fundamentalist Christian school, they are going to want those principles taught to their children.

I am sure they were just being good stewards and not allowing Monkey Pox to spread in the school.

I mean yea. Also, is a Jewish synagogue supposed to accept an abortion supporting catholic? It wouldn't be very "nice" of them. But are you not allowed to also have standards as to founding principles?
