Not espousing homosexuality is a very Christian thing to do. I realize this hurts your feelings, but that doesn't really change anything.

How are the public schools in DeQuincy?

In areas with crap public schools… a lot of parents send their kids to religious schools. Not for the religion, but to escape the public schools.

They care more about how they look than they do about the welfare of the child. Nothing new here. I think the school should have the right to do it but I think they are pretty shitty for exercising that right. There's a place in hell for them.

I think the school should have looked with compassion for the girl, who is not in control of anything regarding her life situation, whether it be what happened to her parents or the orientation of her adoptive parents, one of whom is a relative of the girl. What if she was just simply living her her aunt? This is dumb, but its a private school so their right to make the call must be respected, not agreed with.

I also note the article just says "lost her parents" but doesn't say anything about what happened to the mother. It also doesn't say that the father died.

I'm sure they are just fishing for a lawsuit. Why would two homosexuals want to send their children to a Baptist school? They don't agree with the Baptists and vise versa. Just nonsense.

I can see a scenario with a school faces pressure from a number of families threatening to leave, making the school financially unviable.

Clearly they are thinking of the child in this decision.

Private school, so it can do what it wants. With that said, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of a Christian school of any stripe refusing admission to children of adults who were divorced and got remarried, and are therefore openly committing adultery.

This thread went exactly as one would expect it to go.

Lots of people who do not have a relationship with God who are judging those that do.

I feel sorry for the young child. She didn’t do anything wrong here but is the one having to endure the changes.

Private school’s choice.

But they are true assholes and not Christian in my eyes. That is not what Jesus would do or want to happen.

Parents of a small child die, she gets adopted by familial aunt who happens to be gay, and they kick child out of school.

I’ll defend their right to make that decision while still condemning it.

Typical religious hypocrisy. Terribly unfair to the child.

I feel bad for the kid.

And I don't mean for getting kicked out of school.

I agree that it comes across as small-minded & redneck from the school administration. In my eyes, it's not the Christian thing to do. I really feel bad for the kid. If I were a parent of a kid, I would never selfishly put myself or a "lifestyle choice" before my child's best interest.

I know her and her partner... they are incredible people. Sad situation

Edit... I also worked with the deceased father of the daughter.

I am catholic (not hard core, but went to catholic school my whole life, as is my daughter), and I don't agree with gays, but this is a shitty thing to do. I think that can be easily recognized
