Simple solution:
Have the NBA rejects identify as women. Play in the WNBA. Make it more "exciting", then see if the product takes off.
Right, Progs? Besides, men are better at being women than women are!

Why would Title IX and the WNBA be discussed in the same article?
They have LITERALLY nothing to do with each other.
Title IX is about equality in higher education.

That's probably paid attendance, from companies that are forced into buying blocks of tickets, or else.
And it's still higher than I expected.
At least it didn't cost them much.

The WNBA had an estimated $60 million in revenue in 2018, according to Forbes. The NBA, 50 years older, raked in $7.4 billion that year and boasted $10 billion in revenue this year.

how in the hell did that joke generate that much revenue? NBA forced to share tv contract money?

Yeah, this sounds good but what if the men get pregnant? Whole effort for naught.

Bill Burr is right, I live in DFW and couldn't tell you if we even have a WNBA team.
I'm a sports nut and have probably watched less than 5 minutes of this garbage in my life.
Your product sucks so why pay people

Take all the money made in the WNBA and divide it amo g the players.... problem solved... they only make what they generate

Factual statistics:
List ticket price for the NBA ($89 USD) compared to the WNBA ($17.42 USD)
Average viewership for the NBA (2019 NBA Finals 15.14 million) compared to the WNBA (In 2018: 231,000 viewers)
Average attendance for the NBA (18,000) compared to the WNBA (6,768).
That’s what I don’t understand about these people, where do they think this money will come from?
Lebron makes $20M per year so all the women should as well. Will it just magically appear out of nowhere?

All of their revenue is suspect.
Woke corporations buying blocks of tickets that go unused or are given away. These same corporations sponsor and advertise.
The NBA negotiates and pressures for better TV contracts for the WNBA and TV agrees to keep NBA happy.
They share a lot of facilities, likely rent free.
It’s a sham.

hasn't there been a few failed pro football leagues that have already tried this?

WNBA (6,768).
I would almost bet that number is an absolute lie. Paid attendance maybe, but not actual.
There’s no way WNBA games are drawing almost seven thousand people a night.
The OP title is correct though, WNBA pay is definitely not equitable or has equity. Because equity is defined as what is “fair and impartial.” And since the WNBA literally loses money, they should be paid nothing and the league should fold. Yet people like Griner are making multiple hundred thousand dollars, despite the league losing money. That’s definitely not equitable.

I couldn't name a WNBA team if you put a gun to my head. I've also never watched a single WNBA game and I wouldn't have a clue when one was on.

WNBA players are the most overpaid professional athletes in the world.
