Agreed, but any woman with a decent body and caked on makeup can make bank by letting guys watch them score off the court.

I've always said women are over 50% of the population, it doesn't matter what men do, women alone could make it the most commercially successful sport in America.

That’s what they are saying. We don’t make any money, so we demand that you give us your money!
There are literally hundreds of cases where a better argument can be made for gender equity in the workplace than in sports and in particular the WNBA.
There is no case! Nobody cares! Nobody watches! They would not exist if not totally propped up and subsidized by the NBA.

WNBA avg attendance 6700 quote:higher than id expect to be honest Probably majority free tickets. Might as well give away and hope for concession $$.
I doubt very seriously that this is the actual average attendance. I'd be willing to bet the NBA strong arms some of their corporate sponsors to buy up blocks of tickets and try to give them away.
Like in all sports these days they count tickets sold not actual attendance and if a corporate sponsor buys up tickets and can't give them away that is still counted as attendance.

If we reversed the roles and half of the men in the NBA were gay and all the women in the WNBA we're straight, would the pay gap be the same?
Pay gap would be the same, but the NBA would quickly ditch the perimeter game and play the post like it’s 1956.

Not me, but somebody would pay to see it.

Pay everyone the same. It’s easy. Just merge the two leagues and pay the players the same. Any woman who makes an NBA team gets paid same as a guy would. Probably solved.

Shocking
That's not just a WNBA issue either. It is become a pandemic in the world of social media and app-based dating.
Women are to blame.
Why don't women support the WNBA (watching, attending, etc.) in the same way men do the NBA.
Blaming men for not caring about the WNBA is off base.

If women supported the WNBA like men support the NBA there wouldn’t be a pay issue

In the entertainment business you get paid by the number of butts you put in seats. Women’s basketball simply does not put enough butts in the seats in order to obtain high salaries like the men. This is not complicated.

Zero interest in women's sports. If every single one was cancelled it would not bother me one bit.

WNBA is not a profitable venture. The NBA is.

Average attendance for the NBA (18,000) compared to the WNBA (6,768).
Frankly I’m quite shocked WNBA attendance is even that much.
