Sure, that's understandable.

The problem is that this doesn't stop them from offering up their "expert" opinions as facts to support whatever inane views they hold.

I’m trying to point out there is a double standard in our law system.

He's played his share of obvious hoaxes over the years. I could give a crap less what if he is thrown under some prison or buried in debt and lawsuits, with all the legal fees for the rest of his life

Same. IMO, the guy's a liar. Sure, there is a double standard but we all should have our own standard at the end of the day. One of those standards is that we should not lie. God asks us to not to do that as part of the Ten Commandments. I get that my fellow conservatives don't like it but God's Law is His Law.

Sure he’s played up hoax’s, and so did CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS. When will they have to pay for their hoaxes?

What does him being an idiot have to do with anything?
Chris Cuomo Is a giant idiot and pushed hoaxes about covid and the vaccines that got people killed. When does he have to pay for his actions?

You should give the first amendment a good read. It doesn’t say what you think it says.

I wasn't making an argument for myself, baw. I don't have any stake in this argument. I was just saying, that most people who are arguing are more concerned with the premise, not the person (Alex Jones).

It's like when the ACLU defended the neo-Nazi group's right to March. If this happened today, would you be shouting "How could they defend such despicable people?". They weren't defending Nazis. They were defending protected speech.

Again, I'm not saying that I believe this is a free speech issue or not. But it's obvious if you read the responses on this thread that many people do believe this is a free speech issue.

The ACLU defended Neo-Nazis when the government prohibited their right to march based on their viewpoint. That violates the 1st Amendment. And to answer your question I would not be shouting “how could they defend Neo-Nazis.” I don’t believe the government should allow certain viewpoints over others. I understand this means that people I vehemently disagree with will be permitted to speak and assemble but that part and parcel of a free society.

However, this does not mean that people who lie and defame private citizens are immune from the consequences of their actions.

This.

Jones is the lowest form of life. Hopefully he’s penniless after these trials, and living under a bridge.

Not only do these smooth brains defend him. They believe in some form or fashion that he's right about Sandy Hook.

If he does end up homeless, I hope he starts sleeping on that bench with the George Floyd statue.
