You never get fired & move wherever your friends are. Might as well be a govt job.

Isn’t it a government job?

The article you linked is about the HR commissioner for the city of Atlanta

Those jobs pay shite and the biggest fringe benefit of it is being able to frick over people who are making more money than you.

For example, 3 corporate jobs that will take your life and shrivel it like a raisin because they never turn off...

1. Corporate finance - financial cycles never end, M&A, divestments, capex, audits, etc etc. Commuting to / from work in the dark. Life meet over.

2. Human Resources - reorganizations, M&A, divestments, talent resourcing, policy, ethics & compliance, labor relations, etc. Hours and hours and hours. Life meet crushed, far from cush.

3. TigerDroppings Moderator - all of the above plus dense knuckleheads per post challenges; worst of them all.

Bull fricking shite
HR issues are the only issues at any job I’ve ever had that I didn’t feel I could confidently resolve. I’ve always been glad that someone else has to deal with that shite, because I can’t.

Well I guess it’s okay if you want to be one of the most hated person in the company because all people in HR these days are the puppets for the big wigs

I sit down the hall from our HR director. She has the best stories but ain’t no way I’m taking her fricking job.

One small example, she had to deal with the feds when a guy forged a visa for his slam piece.

HR has no natural predators.
At our company they actually have all-Manager calls where they share helpful tips, like one HR person who admitted she blocks off Tuesdays for "me time" essentially.

Oh, and nothing says "Diversity" like a herd of all white women in HR asking you why you're giving critical feedback to a "person of color" who just was caught lying.

Must be freeing to have no fear for your job whatsoever.

I still can it the Personnel Dept. One bad side of the job is having to spout upper mgmt bs with conviction, knowing it's bs, to employees that know it's bs, and having to defend it.

You ain’t never told no lie. For real, in my next life that’s exactly what I’m doing. And you can move around pretty much anywhere because how prominent of subject matter it is nowadays. They even have an HR dept in that research base at the South Pole you could apply to.
