Democrats have been targeting the nuclear family for years.

TLDR

It's boomers faults. They married young and discovered this thing called divorce and used it like it was an eraser for a pencil. Then when daddy and mommy start whoring around town since they are the Jones's everyone wants to be like the Jones's. Next thing you know there are pineapples everywhere and then genital warts. Shits gone to hell and back.

The issues is absent parents (does not matter the combination of parents)

1 parent home - absent as the sole remaining parent is overrun or checked out
2 parent home - absent as both are distracted by the trappings of modern life

Absent
Mindless
Set adrift on the thin ice of modern life…

Yet, y’all talk so much shite about single moms and moms in general. At least these moms aren’t abandoning their kids and are paying for them while these deadbeats leave with no consequences or repercussions.

I will never understand the hate these women get when they’re not the ones getting someone pregnant and abandoning them with 100% of the responsibility child raising.

I'd say all rapists have anger problems.

I posted a similar thread a few days ago and it got sunk with the quickness. Pretty sure because I discussed God, but I’m still not sure why.

A defining trend of the past 50-60 years in the western world has been the continuous assault on individual accountability and responsibility. The absentee father problem is the most damaging unintended outcome of that effort and will haunt society for the foreseeable future.

lack of fathers

The high presence of shitty mothers is where society needs to point the finger.

In previous generations, the father was gone most of the time at work while the mothers raised the kids at home.

There's a reason Harry Chapin wrote the song in the 70's...

quote:

"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when"
But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then

I think the symptoms of not belonging to a nuclear family lead to most of those statistics you listed, Mike.

Single income household means less money. Less money either leads to state dependence or a single parent working multiple jobs to make ends meet. Distracted parents working multiple jobs have less time to concentrate on raising their children. Unsupervised children don't do as well in school and learn skills from their peers instead of their parents. They often seek "family" connections with similarly disaffected peers in their neighborhoods or communities. And on and on and on....

Privatization of prisons has had an ENORMOUS impact on fatherless homes. We imprison more men, per capita, than any Western nation in the world, flirting with the imprisonment rates of third world nations.

Society's acceptance of divorce has obviously had a huge impact, as well. Thankfully, after the Boomers pushed divorce rates over 50%, later generations are waiting to get married and more often staying in marriages.

All that said, this is one hell of a subject to discuss on this board considering the nearly unanimous celebration of the repeal of RvW. You think fatherless homes are an issue now?! Just wait.

Fat acceptance. Endless shrill anger. Shaming. Alimony. Child support. Blue hair .toxic masculinity. Leftist politics. Karen culture…

Fathers? I’m surprised anybody even talks to North American women anymore , let alone reproduces with them.

Talk about cherry-picking your facts. The "facts" that are given a source are using sources from the 1980's.

THe most recent "fact" is from 1999, and the oldest is from 1978.

And those are the ones that actually provide a year for reference.

Do you have any updated numbers you can use to help us compare and give us an idea of it's rate of decline or improvement?

How do we know that some of those numbers haven't gotten better? Plus, the age of those "facts" a pre-homosexual adoptions being allowed. Can we see some "facts" taking that into account?

Or will that ruin the Facebook meme?

Maybe they have a bad relationship because the father wants the kid to follow the rules, but the kid just wants to party. That was my problem anyway. My dad and I didn’t get along until I moved out, but it wasn’t necessarily his fault. I think you might have the causal arrow reversed on this one.

Don’t just blame the fathers. Some of these women can’t keep a man around and some of them are whores and run a man off.
