That The Team’s Name Was “Outdated”

If you wanted to have a mutant team with a more encompassing name then why not just use X - Factor or Weapon X.

Give ‘em an inch, and they’ll take a mile.

Even if they have good intentions, they’re inadvertently feeding and rewarding victim mentality.

X-team

But what will they call normal people?

"Human" seems similarly outdated

I don't know why they just can't make something new if they feel the property is outdated.

Oh wait, I do know. It's because they're talentless hacks.

Pretty sure this is them "taking a mile".

I guess Marvel is passing on my story pitch for the male to female post-op trans team called "The Ex-Men."

Is the term “women” outdated? What about “human”?

The “men” in X-men has never been a gender thing.

It's amazing how the people who currently have control of these properties don't understand this simple concept.

In this movie, the X-Men are all Mexicans, and gain their mutations from a holding cell after getting caught crossing the border.

I’ve openly said that I don’t think the X-Men should join the MCU, and even have a problem in the comics of them being in the same universe as the rest of Marvel. So honestly the more quickly they can sink the MCU the better at this point. I’ll just pretend it all ended with Endgame and the two Spider-Man sequels.

I know lots of liberals - trans people, feminists, etc.

Pretty much all of them that I've asked have said it's stupid to change the name. The "Men" in X-Men never just meant dudes - Jean Grey was on the team from issue #1. The "X" never implied people who used to be something else. It was, and is, just a cool name.

"The Mutants" doesn't work, even on a conceptual level. Taking the "X" component out just makes me think of mutants like they had in stuff like Total Recall.

They don't believe you. They believe they are so intrinsic to the fabric of popular culture that they don't have to worry about what you want to watch, they can simply tell you what you will watch.

I keep keep saying itthe X-Men will be all identity politics

It’s going to be the death blow for the MCU.
