That was the Capital One Bowl played at the Citrus Bowl Stadium. I was there as well. Poured down rain right before the start of the game and soaked us, and we were wet throughout the first half. LSU seemed to be in slow motion due to the cow pasture of a field. And the refs at the end were atrocious--the Penn State players were laying around delaying the game but the refs called the Tigers for the unsportsmanlike penalty. It seemed to me like the refs favored Joe Pa so as to give him a good going away before he retired--which unfortunately was forced anyway by the Sandusky issue.
Was that in Orlando in 2009?

Yeah. They should have just cancelled the game if that was the best they could do for the field

1990 Florida state beat us 42-3.
I really thought that was the game that was gonna turn season around. Lost 4 in a row then we squeaked a 3 point win out vs Tulane. Brad Johnson Sr. Was too much that game.
Still hurts to this day

Chick-Fil-A Peach vs Clemson, 2012. Nothing else even comes close

Clemson in the 12 Chick Fil A (25-24) and both Notre Dame losses (Music City in 14 and Citrus in 18) are probably my top 3 most frustrating. Shitty field loss to Penn St in 10 Cap One (19-17) and 05 Cap One to Iowa 30-25) are both close honorable mentions.
These are also mine and even in the same order

Penn State. Penalty on Lyle Hitt for moving a PSU player for trying to run the clock. Field was unplayable.

I remember a whole sheet of sod lifting up when our back turned the corner.

1945 Mississippi State loss. Truly heartbreaking. Ol'Coach Bernie really got out coached in that game. The wing-t played right into States hands.
Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.
I'm thinking I might go rewatch the 1972 Pacific game to get my mind off of it

Last year’s Texas Bowl bc we lost to Kansas State. Even tho we were greatly depleted, I mean, Kansas State.
They Probably call it the greatest win in KSU history.

I was on the first row in Orlando right where that Iowa receiver ran into the end zone. I was way too close to ever unsee that breakdown by our DB’s. Go back and watch it before the snap. You can see the confusion as they were out of position and trying to get answers on what the play call was.

Florida Sugar Bowl lost to Louisville in 2013. Gators entered the game 11-1 and never recovered from a pick 6 on Jeff Driskell's first pass of the game. Charlie Strong had the Cards ready to play and Will Muschamp, not so much.
Started the end of the Muschamp era at UF.

Jeremy Hill touched the ball 1 time in the 4th quarter of that game. Unbelievably bad coaching!

Les Miles had to be secretly paid as an executive producer by the TV networks. I cant remember a coach who was so good at making sure the game was tight in the 4th quarter...regardless of how the first 3 quarters were played.
that was his style. pound it and run down clock. keep it close and pull out at the end. read gary crowton's comments when he went to maryland about miles. a dangerous style not needed in many games that backfired on him many times.

I was on vacation from Ireland in Orlando that Christmas and was at that game (in the stands on the LSU side of the field). From memory it was an unusually cold and wet month in central Florida - more like back in Ireland than I had expected in Orlando. Was it 19-17 to Penn State with a last minute FG?

This!
Also, don't remember the year but the mud pit outback bowl against Penn state was the longest 3 hours of my life. Jefferson was the QB I believe
