Irony of people up North/UK whining about the heat

Funny how when the Southern states deal with the unusual cold snaps we are told it is nothing, why are we whining, we should be prepared, yada yada yada.
Now when they are dealing with the opposite, it is the end of the world.

A lot of them also don’t have AC and aren’t used to it.
Hot is hot baw. No matter who you are

We have central heat. A 100 degree day with a window unit would objectively suck arse.
Stupid thread

Had a dispute with my home warranty company a few years ago and had to deal with using two window units all summer on a 1800 sq. ft. house. If I can deal, so can they.

There's a ton of houses here in Jersey that don't have central air. It's been in the 80s and 90s for weeks now, I can't imagine it's very comfortable for alot of people.

In this thread will be a lot of fat fricks who keep their AC on 67 and that only go outside in the summer to get in their truck calling people pussies because it won't get below 80 in their house

We rarely get snow but I have a snow shovel and warm clothes.

Of course, 80 years ago NOBODY had AC.

I remember one of my co-workers commenting about the big ice storm in Atlanta and loudly stating that they're all idiots because they didn't have chains for their tires to drive on the ice, in Atlanta.
It does suck for them up north when they get a taste of the heat but as long as you're able to put in a window unit then you can sleep decent at night.

They get heat just as often as we get cold weather. The OP makes perfect sense. Just as we aren't as prepared as much for cold weather they aren't for the heat.

Going to be in the 90s this week and my MIL has no AC. Won’t even let me put in the window units.

We have central heat and a shovel is $20, so no, the OP does not make perfect sense

When I lived up North, whenever it was balls hot like this I'd just go around the jobsite and complain that it's not even hot enough to qualify as summer.

You can have sypmoyhy for people without power from a huricane, people without power when the Temps are in the single digits, and sympathy for people who have no central AC in hundred degree Temps.
It's really not that hard to figure out. All three would/do suck arse

Southerners never bitches during weather that the North gets daily in the winter

To be fair, a snow storm shut down London for days several years ago too. I think Heathrow was down for at least 3 days.
