Beer, canned tuna and bread is the only thing I remember buying from there. That was my weekend groceries.

There was a health club out there, I think Fitness Connection.

Yes, and there was a gorgeous girl named Bobby Brown who worked there. I joined that club in 1986 because when I walked in, she was there, and my tongue hit the floor.

She went on to make music videos with famous rock bands

dragon hall

Dragon Hall was great. Sometimes the owner would have legit fried shrimp in the buffet and they always had the soft serve machine up and running. Once, he had a sign for 25 cent beer and we asked for a beer and he handed us cold cans.

I never got the hate for the place.

You bought the high dollar stuff… remember when they first started the generic stuff… you could buy the discounted beer.. it was either white or yellow cans (depended on store). It was very reasonable.. it was bottled by Dixie or pearl so I assumed that was what is was…

Remember Peter hand old chicago style..
99 cent a six pack… you could shake the cushions on your sofa and find change to go to AP when back from the highland bars to finish off the night.

A Taco Bell used to be on Highland Rd close to where the Wienerschnitzel is. That Taco Bell would be printing money today if it had stayed.

I did some dastardly, degenerate stuff in that bathroom.

Always wondered why they closed it. It had to print $$$

Wasn’t it Louisiana National, which was bought by City National, which was bought by Chase?

There was an athletic shoe store at the Highland end in the 80s at some point because I remember buying a pair of leather Dr. J’s with purple Converse check and star. At least that’s what my 59 year old brain tells me.

There was a bank next to the IHOP. I don’t remember which bank but a lot of students had accounts there. Mr. Gatti's was next to the bank.

CNB bank maybe? I had an account there in '89

LNB became Premier.
Premier was bought by First NBC (which had the CNB branches in BR - that "steeple" style was their calling card). First NBC was bought by Bank One. Chase bought Bank One.
