People would rather it count against a ticket like every other company.

Instead you used to have do gift card shenanigans etc.

I have a business plat and love it. Paid for my husbands too. Both have clear and global entry which is awesome. Traveled a bunch this year with the kids and the lounges have been perfect. If they start charging for guests though, not sure it’s worth it. That’s annoying.

Starting in 23’. Each guest is 50 or 35 for kids unless you spend 75k a year.

Is it 75k a year for all amex cards or just one amex card? I hit > 75k on my business card. And if you're >75k, how many guests do you get?

We are so, so close to consolidating everything to Charles Schwab.

The AmEx Platinum deal may push is over to them. We travel much less these days and don’t really need the card…..but, when needed, it is so nice to have.

We got $7-900 to move over can't remember (retirement accounts roughly $800k)

Like their site

I am going to do durable power of attorney then supposedly we can see our accounts together

So far happy but not very sophisticated trader

They will give you a nice retention offer, most likely. They always throw out points as well, it's easy to justify because they make it easy to get $1,000+ in value pretty easily

I've been pleased with schwab for years. The financial consultant assigned to me is very response. I don't use him for financial advise, mostly for help when dealing with a rollover or some other service they provide.

Same here. AMEX has gone to shite. All the services that used to make it so good have evaporated.

I get it waived every year. Have to call and threaten to cancel.

I also met the threshold for free guest in Centurion Lounge through ‘24. They are too crowded and something had to be done.

Looked into it and it perturbs the hell out of me you have to go through Cap One to use the $300 credit. Hate that bush league shite.

Capital One has definitely stepped up their game though.

I get it, but it’s a nice travel portal and you can earn that refund in one weekend trip to any hotel

You also get $100 off your statement during your anniversary month each year, Airport club access, complementary TSAPreCheck/GlobalEntry, President’s Circle status with Hertz, and great multipliers (10x hotels, 5x flights, 2x everything else)

Have never looked at a Cap One product bc always thought they were shitty...

Sell me on the Venture? I see 10x points on hotels, but they have to be booked through their site. How good is their site?

Don't need the 5x airmiles, bc I have Amex Plat

Also, how far do their points go?

Anyone have any problems with getting what flights you want with your miles? I’m hearing that some airlines are being stingy on how many seats that make available for mile redemption.
