re: Nissan will phase out the Titan truck and exit the full sized pickup market

The only reason their sales were as high as they were for the quarter is because people need trucks and were buying what was available. I want to say a couple years ago they sold like 6k for the entire year
ETA: looks like I was wrong. They sell about 20k a year. Must’ve been remembering quarterly numbers.

Those stats are wrong… Ford has the #1 pickup in sales for the last century…
Side note: The brothers are going to be pissed…

GMs numbers probably include the Silverado and Sierra

GM also didn’t have as many chip shortage issues as Ford IIRC

Real brainiac here…
What other full size trucks does GM sell?
No shite Sherlock… When Ford advertises and claim to sell the most trucks, they always say more than the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra… But they still don’t sell more trucks than GM..

Holy shite. I was pointing out that the stats are not wrong. GM outsells Ford in total trucks. I understand the F150 is the best selling model and how Ford can make that claim.

I couldn't disagree more. I owned a '95 Nissan Frontier 4x4 that I drove from '97-'13 on every terrain imaginable in Utah. I gave it to my landscaper for his son's 16th birthday with 276k on the odometer. Other than normal maintenance I replaced wheel bearings, a water pump and an alternator. I also replaced the stock radio and speakers when I purchased. The only minor issue at the end was that she drank oil. Also the truck built in Smyrna, TN.

I’ll probably catch so much hell for this but I actually kinda like the Nissan Titans.
They look nice and their v8's sound like any other non-flat plane v8's.
Do they still have the issue with sucking cat parts back into the engine and destroying it?
If Nissan jumped out of the sack with Renault, it would help their reputation.

I wonder if they'll try to offer something similar to the Maverick or Santa Cruz

Well, that, and built-in obsolescence.
I know several folks with 2008-era Tundras that still look great and have life left. I’m at the beach now where the jet ski guy uses a 2008 Tundra. How many folks keep their GM/Ford that long, on average?

And just at my office I have one guy that is still driving his 2000 Silverado that he bought new, and another that handed down his 07 Sierra to his son last year and got himself a new one. Domestic trucks are good

Most folks I know with Silverados and Suburbans keep them for a long time.

Joy to the World, 1 less Nissan brand on the road :)

I had an 04 Titan for 13 years. It was a good truck. Very roomy and lots of power. Typical Nissan, the paint job was crap. That's why I ultimately got rid of it.
I think it hurt Nissan when they waited so long to update the design. And when they finally did, it wasn't a design that lots of people liked.
I felt they were a good option in the full size market. Not a lot of bells and whistles but it offered a good V8 and lots of room.
I was thinking about eventually getting another one but I guess that won't happen now.

Ford also has TONS of fleet sales because they are cheaper. Many companies justify purchasing an inferior product if there are cost savings.

For some automakers, that means returning to the drawing board and trying to find unique advantages.
Hey, Nissan......start making a small pickemup truck on the scale of the S10 or the real Ranger and I'll love you forever. I bet you won't do it! You won't do it....you're to pussy to do it.

You are the reason movies like Deliverance were set in Georgia.

I am still driving a 2008 Titan and wife driving 2010 Exterra. Neither one has had any major issues with combined over 400k miles. Its my 3rd nissan truck & her 3rd Exterra. Battery clamps, clear coat peeling & signal light holders are the only common problems we have had.
