Who would you have taken at #15?

Purely hypothetical if Griff put better protections on the Charlotte pick?
It would have been a hard choice between Griffin and Williams. Williams would have been the perfect backup 5 to groom behind JV and take over when his contract is up.
But it would be nice to have a sharp shooter like Griffin coming in off the bench to team up with Zion, TM, and Graham on that 2nd unit for spacing. Guess it would depend on how bad his medicals were. McNamara said our medical staff had issues with his knee and we weren’t touching him with #8. But at 15, might be worth the gamble.

Based on the kind of players we are accumulating? Tari Eason, who went 17 to the Rockets.
Homer pick since he is an LSU guy but he has a lot of length and is considered one of the best defenders in the draft. That matches what we have been accumulating in the past year.

Liddell wouldn’t have been terrible at 15.

I probably would have picked Griffin for the shooting and swing factor, but apparently he didn’t pass medicals here so I don’t think he was really even on our board that high.
I like Williams but I don’t think I like him enough to take him at 15. I probably would have gone Eason or Dalen Terry. Probably Eason as Terry seems a bit redundant with Dyson.

Def would have been Williams for me.

EJ Liddell ... oh wait

I don’t get the downvotes. Lots of mock drafts had him in the 15-20 range. That’s what the draft can be so great, we possibly erased the devonte mistake by drafting a first round talent in the 2nd round. Time will tell though.

Was kinda joking but EJ was a top 20 guy for me. I’d actually take Mark Williams given the choice but EJ not far behind.

Branham or Griffin
Would have gone with Branham of the two

We wouldn’t have had the pick regardless because it would have went to Portland, so the correct answer is nobody

His first sentence is "if it had better protections on it".

Probably EJ Liddell.
My bad, didn’t see that, that joke had already been made like 3 times lol.
Branham, Griffin or Williams would’ve been nice.
I honestly really liked the Spurs draft.
Sochan. Branham and Wesley was a nice haul.

Better protections on the Charlotte pick. It would have been the Portland pick regardless of the protections we placed to Charlotte.
Now a better question would be who would you take with the 2025 Bucks had we not given that up due to the protections on the Charlotte pick.

Tari was very underrated to me. He reminds me of Aaron Gordon. Except he was more aggressive last year at lsu on offense; partly due to necessity, but he liked having the green light and took advantage of it.
Strengths:
He is a great and versatile defender. Great body size at 215 lbs, 6’8” tall with 7’2 wingspan and a 9’0 standing reach. He’s also had the biggest hands in the draft and makes dunks with 1 Hand frequently (typically his right.) He is athletic, he shot 36% last year from 3 (pretty much always spot ups only though) and shot 80% from foul line. Initiates and draws contact which gets him to the foul line often. He’s great in transition. He will be able to guard 1-4 for sure but has the potential to guard 1-5. Great hustle/motor
Weakness:
Fouls a ton
Turns over the ball too often
Playmaking for teammates
Pull up jumper because he has a shoulder release that is pretty slow
Very uncomfortable using his left hand
Summary
Basketball IQ isn’t currently very good. But he’s smart so he should be able to clean up the fouls. I mean he’s a Great defender right now who just needs to be a little less aggressive at times. Work on shooting mechanics and learning when he’s forced to use his left when driving the lane, to try and pass out to a teammate instead of taking a bad shot or getting stripped. Athletic and always plays at 100 percent. He accepts his role and doesn’t complain. He flourished in college as a 6th man and I think he’s best suited as an elite 6th man In the nba. But if he can learn how to pass the ball when driving to the paint and not getting to his spot then I don’t see any reason he can’t be a very good starter in the league

Package it with 8 and a future lottery protected first for pick 4 and take Ivey.

Griffin is tempting, but I truly think his medicals ruled him out.
So, then Mark Williams. I'm a big Williams-stan.
