Baseball in Louisiana or Mississippi?

Is baseball better in the state of Louisiana or Mississippi? A pro baseball scout that Moscona talked to says that there is better talent in the state of Mississippi with the constant success of the three Mississippi schools? Do you agree that MS has better talent than Louisiana?

Dunno but there are more douchebags in Mississippi.

Not sure it’s clear cut between those two states but Louisiana talent is vastly overrated by posters on this board, that has been clear for years.
ETA: People have tried to argue it’s top 5-6

Well, there past couple of years there is no doubt that Mississippi has better talent. However all of the schools in both states recruit nationally now, so it is not a matter of home grown talent.

You do understand that each and every player on those teams is NOT from that state don't you? That it is possible to play for a team not of your native state?

Louisiana has better and more talent

Baseball is big in MS. Not expert, but travel ball days illustrated strong talent base in MS to me.

We dominated both Miss schools under Skip and Paul. It all depends on the coach.

Baseball is big in Mississippi and probably prioritized more than in Louisiana. Football gets all of the attention here.

At one time I think LA BB was much better than MS BB.
Maybe that gap has closed?

Too many LA kids burning our playing 118 travel ball games a year

Louisiana has talented players but not in bunches and nowhere near the level of talent football does. There just isn’t enough people in the state to be elite in both.

At my son’s HS, BSL MS, baseball is king. It’s the only sport with real tryouts. Most athletes quit everything else to try and make varsity, or JV if you’re younger. Only had 7 freshman play football this year because of that.
Depends on demographics though, we played some schools where football ruled.

We play all over the southeast. Playing in GA this weekend. In general the LA teams seem to be the toughest. I agree that MS is catching up but wouldn’t say it is better right now.
For those that follow baseball recruiting keep an eye out for Konnor Griffin

I don’t know but MS schools seem to have LA kids on their rosters every year but I don’t notice many kids from MS on our state school rosters including LSU. A lot of people say it’s because PM let LA boys slip out because he’s recruiting nationally but I think it’s because we have a lot of talent in state.

I am not sure you have a full grasp of the definition of dominate. Head to head against MSU we were 38-37 under Skip Bertman. That is far from dominating.

Ole Miss is currently in drivers seat at CWS along with OK. Miss State won CWS last year. USM hosted regional this year. Louisiana had four teams in regionals this year. La. Tech hosted regional last year. LSU, Tech and ULL have had success so it’s a toss up between LA and MS.
