I only use it to make stock and cook rice.

I have a handful of beans or soup/stew recipes I use it for.
It can do lots more and save time, but I usually have the luxury of time so just use a Dutch oven. The Dutch oven allows me to more easily add seasoning or ingredients throughout the cooking instead of all up front or at the end.
That said, I'm going to use the Instant Pot (some kind of Mandela effect makes people think it's called Instapot) this weekend to knock out some Indian style lentils/dahl that takes only 10 minutes under pressure.

Do you use the rice setting or just 3/4 minutes on pressure cook? Water ratio?

Using it regularly or relegated to the garage?
Use mine regularly. It's replaced the "Crock Pot" in our house.

Instapot has been relegated to storage on top of the fridge. I was never a crock pot person to begin with though. Either the textures come out a little off, or the flavoring all seems to blend together.
I have an air fryer/toaster oven combo on my kitchen counter that I use daily.

Just preferred my roasts in a magnalite the old fashioned way
I do as well. The problem is cooking something like a chuck roast on a week day. I don't work from home and neither does my wife. If we want Pot Roast for dinner on a Tuesday then Instapot is a good way to make that happen. I can sear roast and sautee trinity before work then slow cook roast all day. If I come home and roast isn't as tender as I'd like then I can just convert to pressure cook for 20-30 min. and bam we have well cooked roast on a weekday night.

Instapot is convenient since it's automatic, but it only goes to 210 psig (240 F). A normal pressure cooker cooks at 215 psig (250 F) which gives you faster cooking at higher steam pressure. With Instapot you sacrifice convenience for faster, moister cooking. We use a normal pressure cooker for this reason.

Indian style lentils/dahl
Recipe? I make a green lentil curry from Wellplated in the IP, but I'm always up for new lentil recipes.

Equal parts rice and water. Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. 3 minutes at high pressure then 11 minutes in “warm” setting. Perfect sticky rice.

Mine is mostly used for stocks and broths. I use it sometimes for - don't crucify me - weeknight spaghetti meals. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
