Newell left the lube at home for this one.

quote:

Another tough week for the city of New Orleans, not just in our streets and neighborhoods, but in the Orleans Parish Prison. On Monday, Chief Judge Sens of the Municipal and Traffic Court called into the show, upset by the fact he was not notified that Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson ordered all deputies to the jail, which shut down the courthouse. Later that day Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Hutson dodged questions from the media about the courts being shut down. I spoke with Metropolitan Crime Commission’s Rafael Goyeneche to see what he knows about the situation. He says it's clear - Hutson doesn’t know what it takes to be an effective sheriff.

quote:

I refer to Mayor Cantrell as the “milk carton mayor” because she is always missing when it is time for the city to talk about the crime problem. She just refuses to talk about it - and now, so is Hutson!

Look... no one in their right mind could defend Mitch (who was term limited) and the prior Sheriff Guzman. Those two were terrible... especially the Sheriff.

But my goodness... Teedy and Hutson have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Combine that with a DA who also has no idea what he is doing.

Glad to see someone in the media is starting to call them out.

I hate those two counts. Seriously want bad things to happen to them.

frick Newell, he is 100% right in this case, but frick him and his simplistic thinking.

To people downvoting, Newell has said there are only 10-20 people doing all the bad crime in New Orleans and the NOPd needs to deal with just them.

I get what you’re saying, but you just contradicted yourself…

Latoilet doesn’t have time for crime. She has to make it to happy hour.

You're telling me that a Dem is going to vote R because the candidate is clearly more qualified?

LBJ said 200 years, 60 years ago. Looks more like 140 years left for the pendulum to swing.

Newell has had some great shows about what is happening in New Orleans. If she wanted, she could just come on air and dispute but she won’t go on wwl.

To think that this woman won overwhelmingly is beyond reason but when the turnout is below 30%, New Orleans must not care.

Once a great city has become a shell of itself.

Williams knows exactly what he's doing. That's what makes him perhaps an even worse leader.

Within the next 20 years, I honestly believe many will.

Call me cautiously optimistic.

The hustle of the Dems and many leaders of color is drying up. They have traded in on past transgressions that have been eradicated or rarely occur for too long.

There will be more Candace Owens, Tim Scott, and other people of color calling them out in the coming years as their policies continue to fail and set the very people they promised to help the most back further.

The gig is almost up. It’s why I believe they cheated so openly in 2020. It was their only play for a dying party.

That is a discussion for another thread. But I think I have made my point.

Normand better look in the mirror before he goes on about how rotten everyone else is. This is a guy that cursed at the LA legislature in opposition to medical marijuana in his role as the head of the LA Sheriff's Association at the time.

NORA'S last republican mayor was during reconstruction.

Only 50 years left to go!

One of Hutson's first hires was a disbarred attorney who stole while he was clerk of court in New Orleans.

Screw Newell Normand. He is single-handedly responsible for delivering us John Bel Edwards.

Hutson's influence is so bad on jail that it is now 175 deputies short. What does 175 deputies short mean for the jail? Well it means the prisoners are left alone and are monitored by security cameras from another building 24/7.

The sad thing is that the majority in NOLA will continue voting for people like Latoya because she is black. It is that simple. She did not know what she was doing on the council and overall does not know her head from her arse as mayor. But that did not matter to the voters...." Yeah, that be Teedy. She not gown to be bullied....and she ain't white. Party at Teedy and her babydaddy's !!!!!"
