Did we jump the gun seizing Russian assets, including movable property (like yachts)? I still haven’t been shown the legal basis the US has to seize a foreign private individual’s property solely because he has personal or political ties to the leader of another country, and only because we disagree with that country’s lawful basis for the use of force.

That’s akin to Russia seizing the personal assets of Rudy Guliani solely because he is a personal friend of DJT.

I believe we should respond to Russian aggression that destabilizes the liberal world order. I don’t think we should waste the opportunity by stooping low and seizing private property without a lawful basis.

That's what dems did to Rudy's law license in NY, but they are dems. They even sicced their own version of the KGB on him. He tried to give them a copy of Hunter's hard drive, but they weren't interested.

I'm no lawyer, but if the German government effectively stole my boat docked in Fiji, I'm sure the State Department would have something to say about it.

When did seizing private assets become part of foreign policy in the post Westphalia era?

The US government doesn't give a flying frick about being legal. It is corrupt to the core, both sides.

Yes and it will be considered normal to do it eventually. Nobody even flinched and the private sector played along. Global investors are watching.

Very illegal.

Would be like if unrelated, foreign countries seized the private property of our rich citizens because they were offended that we invaded Iraq.

Or, if someone like musk had his out of country property stolen because a foreign country didn't like that he donated money to certain politicians.

I’m sure one of Biden’s closet friends or relatives just needed a new yacht.

If this is completely illegal, wouldn’t the owners and their security team be able to shoot whoever comes on the boat to take it. I’d have to see exactly how bad they want it.

Not my monkey, not my circus. Unless they threaten us directly or indirectly, I don't care what they do. If NATO is so worried, maybe those worthless Western European fricks can fund and defend themselves for a change.

Why would we respond to any aggression that destabilizes liberals?

Our own government is still holding people in solitary confinement because they were in dc on January 6th. This government knows no bounds.

Yes.

This was totally done by order of the leftist/globalist directive.

It was an order from others. Our banana republic is on directives.
