A Florida Ford dealer, Gary Smith Ford in Fort Walton Beach, is currently asking $140,600 for a relatively well-equipped F-150 Lightning. The Lightning in question has an MSRP of $71,049. This means Gary Smith Ford is applying a simply ludicrous $69,554 "market adjustment" - almost doubling the price of the truck.

Minus any dealership markups, most journalists agree that the Lightning represents great value for money. Particularly the base model, which can be had for as little as $32,474 after the Federal Tax Credit is applied (again, this is in normal times without any ridiculous "market adjustments"). The entry-level Lightning Pro comes with a lot of equipment as standard, including a 12" infotainment screen and LED headlights. It also gets a 98 kWh battery and 452 bhp - meaning the cheapest electric F-150 has more power than the $69,525 ICE F-150 Raptor.

No,these trucks come pre-fitted with a camel toe unless you ask for the Trans Lightning and then you get to pick.

It’s why the CEO of Ford is trying to eliminate dealers and go the Tesla route.

He's going to have a shocked Pickachu face when Ford stops sending him vehicles as punishment for crazy markups they have warned dealers to stop putting on their product.

I don’t see a problem. It comes with a first aid kit. The dealer is just trying to break even here.

This is inaccurate. The dealer confirmed it was an error and the MSRP was input twice online. In fact this a demo unit and not for sale. The sticker was removed within 24 hours.

Error defined as - not expecting deliberate price gouging to go viral. The inputting of the MSRP was deliberate AF.

This dealership is right out the back gate of my first duty station. Incoming airmen were told not to go there for a good reason.

I do agree with the folks who say you don't have to buy it and it's definitely true with me, it would still be sitting on the lot when I left
