UT makes everyone else look like they are destitute. University of Texas has the deepest pockets out there.

aTm has so much more money and resources than LSU. It’s hard to imagine keeping up with aTm when it comes to NIL and paying players.

And it's not even close. We are middle of the pack in the future SEC for money. Texas could spend $100M a year and not blink.

They can but right now they don't. Orgeron messed a lot of things up internally within the program. He pissed a lot of boosters off. We don't have the deep pockets like some other big programs but the good thing about LSU is they're willing to do what it takes to stay on top. Once BK repairs what Orgeron broke it will all fall in place. They just need to get a little more creative. I don't think TAMU/Texas, etc. are going to keep doing what they're doing. They're only going crazy right now because it's a small window loophole to buy a championship.

What did he do that pissed off boosters that BK has to repair? Seems like if Orgeron pissed off the boosters they would be more than happy to give again with BK in the driver's seat.

I'm not defending O or anything. I am just curious what relationahip damage he did with the boosters that was so bad that it's currently being held against BK and he has to fix it.

John Bel gonna try and find a way to keep some of the money himself

If it were before the OTHER Gov Edwards (RIP) you can bet a healthy chunk would go to the re-election fund.

Give every recruit a hellcat charger and a couple grand cash each month, dont drug test them. Everyone will flock to LSU

LSU wouldn't field a top 25 team if that's all they paid. Studs are getting millions to sign with schools.

There is none, most of these people just repeat what they hear on this site. As for as A&M goes, they can’t sign everyone so LSU will still compete with the best like we’ve been doing. Alabama has no more money or opportunities than LSU does. We will still get the best players from Louisiana and sprinkle in the gaps with top players from around the country. We still in good shape. LSU has enough money to compete for the players we really want and imo having to be creative and actually think about a strategy will only benefit LSU. Filling your class with bought players who’s heart isn’t in it will only take you so far. If it’s not handled right it could become a real mess.

I don't any numbers to present, but Louisiana doesn't have the volume of corporations nor wealthy individuals as larger states with much larger economies. NCAA needs to step in with some type of "salary cap" and other controls to mitigate disparities between schools and abuse. Otherwise, schools with more money will dominate.

It’s amazing how little some of you guys know about money and business in la. I work for tech sales companies all my life. None of them ever have an office or even a sales person in la. Or ms. For that matter. There just isn’t enough money/business to justify it. It’s always covered in their spare time by a guy in Houston. We have 13 teams covering dallas and 15 covering Houston and 3 in austin. Heck we even have one in Oklahoma. The money here is just on a completely different level.

quote:

Another state in the SEC footprint has removed the prohibition of schools from directly or indirectly arranging for a third party to provide compensation to a student-athlete through NIL.

After the Louisiana State Senate approved a bill allowing schools, their affiliates and boosters to compensate student-athletes for use of their NIL in early June, Gov. John Bel Edwards reportedly signed it into law on Wednesday.

The revision allows coaches and school personnel in Louisiana to also facilitate deals for its student-athletes. The law became effective this past Friday.

Other states – especially in the Southeast – have amended NIL laws that empower collectives’ to have a significant impact on high school recruiting.

A school-specific collective is made up of deep-pocketed fans and alumni. They are run independently of the school they are affiliated with. They work by pooling funds from a wide swath of donors and businesses to create NIL activities for a school’s student-athletes.
