It’s been one hell of a week so I hope everyone has an opportunity to get out, relax, and enjoy the weekend. This is one of my favorite weekends here because of an annual fly-In. Unfortunately, I have to head to King Salmon this weekend for work, but I’m going to do my best to get out and explore the area. It’s my first time there. The training is for simulation of small planes having to ditch in the water and learning more about how to get out and survive.

I have a cabin reserved next weekend so I plan to celebrate Memorial Day next weekend instead. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Take a kid along if you can.

Yard work, putting up a cheesy above ground pool for the kids, church Sunday, then either grilling hamburgers and the works or boiling crabs Monday. Have a good weekend, baws.

Widespread Panic and Phish are both playing 3 nights in different parts of my state, and in years prior it'd be ridiculous to think that I would skip out on going to either one of those weekend runs.

But my parents live on Lake Martin, and they are going to the beach, so their house will be empty. That sounds so nice and stress-free to me, and will be way less expensive, so me and the gf will be going down there to kayak, fish, eat, drink, and just relax. Guess I'm getting old.

DNR has a lot of cabins to rent for $35/night.

They're rustic and most require hiking. The ones around here only accept reservations 6 months out, and when the clock hits midnight, there's a bunch of folks trying to grab one.

At the camp this weekend. Cut grass this morning getting ready to clean the boat up. Will probably spend most of the weekend on the boat. We didn't bring the dogs so we may camp out on the boat tonight. Have friends coming in tomorrow evening. They always fill the boat up when they come, curious to see the look on their face since after today we will have less than 50 gallons on board so it will take over 200 to fill it up. They (more than) have the money so I will let them pay but watching them split a $1,000 fuel bill will make me grin.

the old lady found us a "cabin" on the outskirts of Fairbanks, it was a 3000 sq.' log cabin that had been assembled in Washington, then disassembled and shipped to AK for reassembly, it was beautiful, the guy that owned it lived in sort of the basement, cool older dude, was head of the Fairbanks ballet association(or whatever the official title is)

Been at the camp all week. Up north on a great lake, so we went from NOLA heat to ~55deg, which I don't really mind. Lots of hot coffee and an old hoodie and cooking breakfast. Been running around with the dogs a lot.

Joe Thompson Cabin $45

Has a great trail adjacent to it and has great fishing/black bear hunting nearby.
