Arch looked pretty pedestrian vs LCA in the playoffs last season. Of course Trev always has a very good defense there.

on3 rankings suck

Heard they aren’t considering the opinions of the regional experts - you can read between the lines here

They are way better than 247 now

Last year was their first year and with covid couldn't get out and see a lot of guys and they didn't even have most of their regional people hired

Their 23 and 24 LA rankings > 247's

If that’s pedestrian then I’d hate to see what a bad game looks like.

Remember when Brother Martin absolutely ate Miles Brennan alive and crushed him in his Sr year?
Something to be said about level of competition for sure.

People on here are in love with them because they are the shiny new thing.

I don’t buy that they have better connections than 247 at LSU, and Chad Simmons is trying to be edgy.with his different rankings.

why rankings are stupid:

I posted on Social media about how while good (meaning I wasn't saying he actually sucks), if his last name wasn't Manning, he wouldn't be remotely close to the #1 ranked player based on his measurables and high school play/film...

Shannon Terry of all people, replied saying 'but his name is manning'.... LOL case in point jesus.

Had a back and forth for him to say: "The ranking is a projection that he'll be the #1 pick in the NFL draft, meaning with 3-4 years of development, not where he is now" LOL WHAT....if so, then rankings are Completely meaningless then.

I think if Arch's last name was Smith he'd be a 4* #120-150 type guy. He's tall, has a pretty good arm, and is more athletic than people give him credit for.

But he's not a Trevor Lawrence type that warrants a #1 overall recruit ranking.

Good player, will likely see some success, he is not his Uncle Peyton.

Arch and his teammates, some of whom are also being recruited, have to match the urgency of all the kids who don’t have college and pro futures waiting for them…

Charles Powers is the best recruiting scout or whatever you want to call it and he's at On3

They were on Heard first when 247 didn't even have him ranked

Miller and Adams are more accurately ranked on On3

In 24 they have Wardell Mack ranked which is correct while 247 doesn't

Shea has caught up some lately but when the staff switched and Billy went to On3 he was kicking 247's arse for inside info
Sonny only has inside info on Lafayette or Northshore kids
Also Sam as a national/regional guy has really good connections on the player side and LSU and other SEC schools side

With last year's stats, he'd be a 3* IMHO..simply nothing special to deserve rankings from on field results last year

I’m not trying to be obtuse, but is that what rankings are based on? My son is a kicker, and their rankings are SOLEY based on camp results (and the potential those results imply)…no matter what ranking service you go by. They rank on their camp results.

I wish at least one of the services based rankings off of on field performance.

Howard was a 5* and #1 rated. He gets hurt during season and drops to a 4.

Please explain how performance at a camp affected his ranking.

Simple...it didn't

I was talking about kicker ranking services like Kohls or Chris Sailor, no idea how they rank QBs.

I’m sure the opinion of a scout at 247 that Howard is no longer a top 35 prospect of the 2022 class has very little to do with his future success in life.
