The most racist thing about this entire story is this wire report from ESPN after yesterday's game. Clown world to capitalise "Black" but not "white".

Hopefully all the old white people keeping this sport alive turn on it and baseball dies.

You need to update your talking points bc the NBA has been the least woke league (with the possible exception of NHL) for at least 2 years.

Thats your opinion. All you have to do is do a quick twitter search to see others opinions on the situation. I saw one person make the claim that the statement in itself wasnt racist but the fact that he chose to go at a black player made it racist.

The person who claimed that is a gigantic pussy and is everything that is wrong with society. If you see racism in this incident it is because you are actively looking for racism and will stretch the truth to get there.

Tim Anderson is a piece of shite.

Wait till you see the NYT justification for this.

LINK

quote:

Based on those discussions, we’ve decided to adopt the change and start using uppercase “Black” to describe people and cultures of African origin, both in the United States and elsewhere. We believe this style best conveys elements of shared history and identity, and reflects our goal to be respectful of all the people and communities we cover.

quote:

We will retain lowercase treatment for “white.” While there is an obvious question of parallelism, there has been no comparable movement toward widespread adoption of a new style for “white,” and there is less of a sense that “white” describes a shared culture and history. Moreover, hate groups and white supremacists have long favored the uppercase style, which in itself is reason to avoid it.

quote:

The term “brown” as a racial or ethnic description should also generally remain lowercase and should be used with care. “Brown” has been used to describe such a disparate range of people — Latin, Indigenous, Asian, Middle Eastern — that the meaning is often unclear to readers. A more specific description is generally best.

Anderson accused band aids of being racist and you’re knighting for him and that type of reasoning. I rest my case.

African Americans are the biggest snow flakes in this country. They blew by White, SJW's, and continue putting distance between them.

No I dont need a rebuttle to this and examples of other Donaldson encounters. Just stating something I read.

And that’s ridiculous. If you buy that “opinion” you’re part of the problem, and you’re creating more division. That tweet suggests that in any interaction between a black person and a white person, the words and actions of the white person are inherently racist because the person he is interacting with is black. That’s just downright stupid. Just as importantly, it’s divisive.

like the violent factions of BLM, black panthers, and various black power Muslim groups haven't used a capital B.

We live in some bizarro world where people are caving on their values for weird stuff.

Mate I don't know if you realised this but the AP actually calls for this in their style guide. Very troubling development. Our fake news media is far from colour blind.

Lol again you’re giving Josh Donaldson WAYYY to much leeway here. He lowered a knee at a sliding TA last week at third. It was a a hard play between two guys who don’t like each other. Donaldson is The same guy who accused Giolito of Spider Tack and then threatened to fight him in the parking lot last year

So Donaldson is an a-hole.

quote:

There is a TON of history between Donaldson and the Sox. To suggest the Jackie comment wasn’t meant to be disprespctful toward TA after all the history between them is insane and any rational thought otherwise is because you’re completely delusional by the race concepts you disagree with in society. From a pure baseball standpoint is was bs on Donaldson…end of story.

And maybe disrespectful towards lots of people, particularly ones he doesn’t like. Like thousands of baseball players who’ve come before him. Basketball and football are way worse. I just don’t see the racist angle. If you call yourself Jackie Robinson in ANY context as a black man, then YOU are the one that is uneducated an insensitive. And don’t be surprised if a guy who may not like you, fricks with you by calling you that. May make him an a-hole, but not a racist. People are getting way to loose throwing that word around, and it’s quickly losing its power. Of everything is racist, nothing is racist.

And a fricking suspension? Get the frick over yourself, Manfred, you tiny-dick frick.

People are entitled to their opinions. If you feel the need to argue with anyone who doesnt agree with you then go right ahead. I dont have time for a lot of the crap going on these days.

I agree with you, but
thats one way to look at it, also you arent a mind reader, you dont know someone elses intentions. People have biases. A random person walking around your neighborhood, you will probably have varying thoughts going through your head based on their race/gender/age. Its not right, but thats just the way people are wired.

The suspension, and lack of appeal(he would win the appeal with ease), shows how bad the leagues are pandering to African Americans. It's not helping them, and pandering to them, and telling them what to do hasn't worked for them, especially in Democratic stronghold cities for 50 years, so stop.

If this was Asian vs White, Hispanic vs white, this shite would of been appealed, suspension lifted, and donaldson gets back pay, and pay for his suffering(pending cba rules on winning appeals).

Good, there was a quote in another thread(forum), where it said he would accept it.

He will easily win his appeal. As a former union member, i went thru appeal process a few times at a former work place, and i won them both, got back pay + an extra days pay or three.
