it's less about graduating high school and more about transitioning from child to adult
You wouldn’t think this needs to be explained.

Graduating high school is a milestone for a person and their family. It marks the end of childhood and often times the end of the child living at home.
As a high school teacher I have worked at over twenty years worth of graduations. But when my daughter graduated I cried. Then three months later when we moved her into her dorm room on the campus of UGA I cried again.
And I’m not really the crying type.
It is fun to watch your kids become adults and I’m proud of what they have turned into but a part of me is sad they don’t live under my roof any more.
High school graduation is the event signifying this change that is sweet for the kids and bittersweet for their parents.

Regardless of how easy it was academically, its a major accomplishment and a huge milestone in life.
You should frick off and find something more important to worry about.

Agree 100%. My kid just graduated this week. Straight A’s his whole life and graduated with as many AP and honors classes he could take.
Even he said he didn’t want a party and wasn’t excited and said (I paraphrase) “high school’s not much of an accomplishment, it’s kind of expected that everyone graduates”

Yeah, I find that kind of "flex" to be retarded. Its a rite of passage, enjoy it and move on.

So…..You’re saying that you weren’t excited when you graduated HS?
It’s a special time in a teenager’s life, and meant to be enjoyed by them and their family.
Have a good weekend Scrooge.

My junior high school (5-8) had 8th grade graduation, and it was a BFD, probably because about half the class would never finish high school and knew it. That was it for them, so the whole family showed to celebrate.
I hate boring ceremonies so chose no to participate, and it was a bit of a kerfuffle. School admins could not believe I wanted to skip the ceremony, and they made me get parental consent, which took about 10 seconds.
I did enjoy high school graduation with longtime classmates, but I skipped the college ceremony. Too hot, long, and boring.

I think it was more special for my parents than me. They had a hell of a party.

OP is literally the most miserable person in the world.
It's a proud accomplishment and the first step in going into adulthood. I would like to say you know about this but I don't think you do.

All education is a GD joke no one fails that just pass them on to the next grade

Because that is their lifes biggest achievement ever. How sad is that?

For the same reason you celebrate ejaculating. It’s a major accomplishment

Congrats to your son! Your son sounds a lot like my daughter from an academic standpoint. She graduated last week as well...student wise, she is nothing like her old man haha

My kid also graduated this week. He didn’t have all A’s his entire life, but was a honor Grad and took tons of AP courses. He also said it wasn’t a big deal, but I’ve never seen him as happy as he was after the ceremony. Genuine joy.

What other accomplishments did you have at 17/18?

It used to no be this. High school used to challenger kids and a high school diploma meant something. Now where nobody fails, you’re right. The only way you don’t graduate high school is if you quit.
Private schools disagree
