Bill is and always will 1. be a self obsessed hedonist and 2. a contrarian.

He loves mocking the establishment, regardless of who is in power

Bill Maher is a liberal but based on his recent comments, he's not down with the radical, progressive, far far far left nonsense.

He's a sanctimonious, prick mama's boy. I'd bet he throws like a girl.

I disagree. This is history repeating itself. In 1980 the leftist voters that the radical right calls neocons switched and voted Republican for 20 years. The left moderated by getting on board with globalism (initially a Reagan driven cause) and Soviet resistance. This resulted in this center group moving gradually back to the Dems. Trump hastened their exit.

Now, the left has become extremely loopy again. This will drive a majority Republican consensus, as long as we stay away from the extreme right wing. This is a moderately conservative country that is unable to resist the siren song of free government handouts.

To be fair, Bill was stunned to find out some of his views on abortion were absolutely wrong.

“I learned things this week … that are pretty basic things that I did not know about abortion,” Maher said on HBO’s “Real Time.” “Like in Europe, the modern countries of Europe are way more restrictive than we are or what they’re even proposing! If you are pro-choice, you would like it a lot less in Germany, and Italy, and France, and Spain, and Switzerland. Did you know that? I didn’t know that.”

He's throwing carrots out to the middle leaning left for ratings which equates to money.

Instead of his little comments in a monologue find a tea party or Reagan republican interview that he doesn't vilify

It's like the Dennis Prager comments Maher and all his guests and audience laughed at, from just a few years ago. That the woke left will cancel you unless you admit and embrace the idea that men can menstruate.

Maher chortled and thought Prager was utterly off his rocker.

FF to the Calvin Klein ad.

Dennis Prager was 100% spot on, because he's not closing his eyes to what the Left are trying to do.

His moral vanity overpowers that part of his brain that seeks Truth. But his heart knows. He is the reluctant red-pilled guy who is trying to vomit it back up.it’s not Hollywood backlash he fears, it’s simple cognitive dissonance.

Bill Maher is still the same guy he's always been. The people on his side of the aisle are the ones who are changing.

Right. He’s upset with his side for the things they are doing, but he will still support his side. He’s no different than a majority of this board. They will call out the awful R’s but will still go vote for them. Nothing will ever change with our two-party uniparty system we have in place.

Barely anyone else from the left calls out what they do not agree with from their party. There are several issues with the right that I have not agreed with that I always bring up first when talking to a lefty about politics. They never reciprocate. Ever.

He is a liberal, but he's also a stand-up comedian who sees this wokeness sensitivity bullshite as a destroyer of his profession.

True. His JRE interview illuminated this clearly. He stated early that both sides were bad but Republicans were worse. Then they spent 3 hours railing on democrat policy and hypocrisy.

Like Bill you’re so close to being self aware! Go back and listen to your interview.

His major issue is environmental, and he would consider voting Republican if they changed their stance on climate change.

It's amazing Republicans actually do more to help the environment than libs.

Example- Canceling pipelines significantly increases overall carbon emissions. Gulf offshore rigs (the ones leases have been canceled) are the greenest oil rigs on the planet
