Eagle 98.1 DJ’s need a clue

Do they pick an artist and decide to play the worst fricking song or a song that no one has ever heard before? They all do the same shite.
“Up next……Van Halen….after the break”.
Waiting patiently because I love VH.
“Piece of the action”? What the frick? THAT’s the fricking song you pick?

I haven't listened to 98.1 when there wasn't an LSU game on since 2012.

I cannot imagine tuning into 98.1 for anything other than a game.
Warrant and Motley Crue weren't my bag 35 years ago and still aren't.
Never mind. You do you pops.

i don't think DJs get to pick what to play any more

Who listens to radio? It’s majority commercials with some songs as filler between commercials

I actually lean the other way...most classic rock stations have the same rotation of several hundred songs. So it's nice to see them breaking out of that a little bit, even if it's not a great song.

It's probably all programmed as far as the music. The DJ does nothing but blabber.

Do you not have a smartphone?

What’s wrong with some deep cuts?

You must be young. I haven't listened to 98.1 in close to 10 years, but back then, their programming would be the opposite of what you said. It would seem like they had only 25 bands on rotation and if they played Van Halen, you better believe it was going to be Running With the Devil. Boston, More than a Feeling, etc. Listeners were likely fed up with the same popular songs over and over.

So, you just wanna hear the "hits" that got played on the pop stations, right?
But you ARE an VH fan, right?

Majority of the time the DJ isn't picking the song, especially if the station is running "live" events most of the day. Everything is planned out days in advance down to the second. So they will pick songs that run certain play times, etc. I've seen these schedules many times and feel sorry for whoever has to put that together.

Sorry you listen to terrestrial radio like a poor.
ETA: Every Van Halen song sounds exactly the same.
ETAA: Hearing the same shite over and over again sucks arse.

You’d be complaining if they did the opposite and played the same VH song every time VH was played.

Who still listens to the radio?

Watch out, Karen Southern might be reading this.

I'm surprised no one has thought to break the corporate programming mold.
Bring back the local DJ who plays what he wants to play, takes requests, and does remotes. The follow the corporate owner leader they are currently doing sure isn't working.
