If you decide to leave the north side, Natutal museum of science is a good way to spend a day.

Go check out Reserve 101 downtown. Their old fashioned is great but the clarified New York sour is amazing.

Both the Fine art museum and museum of natural science are great. I think the impressionist exhibit is still there on loan from Chicago. Van Gogh, Monet, etc... The zoo is in the same area.

Spend an afternoon around discovery Green then walk over to Minute Maid for a stros game.

Barhop on Main Street one night. There are breweries everywhere, but Saint Arnolds does have the best venue. Go eat in Chinatown. NASA is very overrated, imo, but everyone should go at least once. Go wade fish at the Texas city dike or west of Galveston. Go play Top Golf, or real golf. There are courses in every direction. Go eat at Nancy's Hustle in EADO then check out the bar scene over there. Original Ninfas and El Tiempo are right there too.

I’m in Houston short term right now and while there are some decent places to eat and drink, there’s really nothing worth “visiting” other than the Johnson Space Center. Just do your time here and get out.

there is nothing in Houston to indicate you are there and not in Cleveland or Kansas City or any other generic city.. Say what you want about New Orleans, but at least if youre standing in most places in NOLA (and not dodging bullets)- you would know youre not in any other city

Great museums all in one area, Astros, NASA, Herman Park is really nice as well and relaxing to spend an afternoon. Go for a run around Memorial park and trails up and down Buffalo Bayou.

This is the only correct answer.. Everyone else is just reaching .

At least when i was a kid there was Astroworld , and Gilley’s for the adults- now both are gone.. also the Galleria was a novelty then, now it’s just another big mall .

And if you hear someone refer to it as gunspoint mall, they are just messing with you.

Not true at all. People are just confused. Gunspoint is just a reference to the abundance of discount gun stores in the area. They are kind of hard to find though. The ones I know of are in the middle of neighborhoods, and the best way to find them is to pick an area at random and drive slowly with your windows down. The gentleman on the street corners should be able to help you locate them pretty easily.

Good luck!

If you’re staying in Greenpoint area, don’t leave anything in your vehicle. If you want good bbq, drive up to Spring and get some Corkscrew BBQ and try Tejas Chocolate BBQ in Tomball. If you drive south into Houston stop at El Taconazo Food Truck, some of the best food truck tacos in Houston, bring cash and don’t go after dark, it’s in a sketchy area but there’s an armed guard on duty.

Karbach Brewery
St. Arnold's Brewery

Just naming a couple. Houston is full of breweries like most large cities.

Right by Minute Maid Park is quite a few bars including Little Woodrow's.

LOL at the negative posters that think their post will make the guy decide to not do anything in Houston.
