I'm working in Houston for the next month or so and have never been around. Any places that I must visit or cool LSU fan hangouts? Prefer to stay on the north side of town.

Here's some of my favorite food/drink places. Some are dive's some not.

North side:
Cottonwood
D and T Drive Inn (Neighborhood kinda dive but awsome)
Lei Low (tiki dive bar, amazing)
8 Row Flint (whisky)
Boil House (if you want crawfish)
Pinkerton's for BBQ

Moontower Inn (east side)
Down the Street (west side)
Hughie's on 18th (NE)
Star Sailor (next to Highie's but awesome owner and drinks)

I'll edit as I think of more.

The Holocaust museum is interesting. I wouldn't say its fun, but its something to visit.

Zero.. there are zero must visits in Houston .. I spent a long time living there, and it’s not a bad place to live, or to start a career- but with the exception of NASA an hour away, there is nothing in Houston to indicate you are there and not in Cleveland or Kansas City or any other generic city.. Say what you want about New Orleans, but at least if youre standing in most places in NOLA (and not dodging bullets)- you would know youre not in any other city….. Hell, when i was in Houston they didnt even have an In n Out Burger yet, to me that would be the only ‘must do’ in Houston now .

They have them in every single shopping center. If not a regular place simply named Massage, they may add their specialty like ‘Foot Massage’ or “Happy Foot”. I have trouble believing that all of these paces are rub and tugs but they must have a pretty solid customer base. I’m afraid to go in one to find out more.

And if you hear someone refer to it as gunspoint mall, they are just messing with you.
