It was, we were just outside getting after it so we didn't care. I remember seriously just going up to random houses and drinking water right out of the spigot.

It rained everyday starting at 11 a.m. last summer. Until about the middle of July. So far this year we have the opposite problem.

It happens.

If you live in south Louisiana it’s going to be hot in May-October. Stop being a pussy.

Roofing can be absolutely brutal as well.

We should make criminals roof during the summer. Crime would drop instantly.

You remember back somewhere in the 80s that we had 13 straight days of a hundred and over here in Arkansas? Do you remember it started on June 1? I remember. Seeing as to how I worked outside for 42 years it tends to stick in your mind.

I agree with OP. It’s nearing the mid 90s and we’re still over a month away from actual summer. I’ve been roofing for over 20 years so I’m used to it. But this is the hottest spring I can ever remember

90 in Houston, 91 in NOLA, and 83 in ATL isn't hot.

I've seen people on here and irl bitching about how hot it's been this year and I just don't see it. Some of y'all are forgetting how truly brutal it can, and does, get. And yes, I know it's still spring, but 90s in May is not all that uncommon.

I think it was 2011, but years back we broke the record when it was 100+ for more than 60 days in a row. Last years summer was actually mild. I don't remember it being this hot this early in May.

I wasnt born yet but this is from todd yakoubians weather blog

Here are some of the record from 1980...

We set the record for consecutive 100 degree + days here in Little Rock at 15: July 5th - 19th.

We had the 2nd most 100 degree days (42).  The most occurred in 1954 (43)

Little Rock had the most days at or above 105 degrees (10 days)

The average seasonal temperature was 97.29 degrees which ranks 2nd behind 1954's 97.64 degrees.  3rd on that list is 2010 and 4th is 2011.

I understand that Louisiana is a different animal from NC but I’ve heard more than one person complain about summer but why is summer the end all be all?

Those months are the same as any others. Sure I liked June-August better when I lived up north but I like the other 9 months of the year far better in NC.

Summer does not need to be the best season.

The mornings in Denver make the afternoons in the summer worth it. Today it was 41 when I headed to the gym. Will allow 86 and sunny as frick for mornings like today any time.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Go ahead and downvote me.

I've found the heat didn't bother me as a kid and teenager. As I got older I've hated the heat

It gets worse every year. One day people are going to realize they need to quit driving their Tundras and jacked up F250’s and get something more eco friendly like a Prius.
