No, it really wasn’t. And your harping that a throw can’t be interfered with after it’s been released is ridiculous. Perhaps the dude is not as big of an a-hole as I was and altered his throw so as not to decapitate Tre.
It was just a weird play that wound up sucking for us. Tre’s not used to running with that brace on—it may make sliding really awkward or sliding may really fricking hurt—and he may have never peeled off on a play like that in his life. He just got stuck in a weird position where he wasn’t able to pull the trigger on either move. It sucks, especially since he was probably gonna be safe anyway. But the ump has to make that call there to protect Tre from himself if anything.
