It will be 6 months before the Twitter deal closes

Just an FYI that we still have some time to go but apparently Twitter has already been lifting some shadow bans and other changes have been noticed by many on the platform. Conservative accounts that were always losing followers are gaining followers at a high rate, the Bee was let back on, etc.
Knowing this, how much crap are they hiding and how much code are they rewriting to hide it all from Elon so that the true scale of their censorship is never known?
I wish Elon would have had it in his deal that nothing changes until he takes over because you know they are going to hide and destroy what they need to in order to save themselves.

I would think with the way data centers and cloud technology is, there's not much they can hide. Everything they do over the next 6 months is going to be in detailed logs that will have to be provided.
They will try, and get away with some stuff, but the vast majority of the changes will have a trail, for sure.

All I know is I hope Elon has everything buttoned up airtight in his business and private affairs because the knives are out. He surely anticipated that though.

It is possible that he provided a list of accounts and a set of directives on what he expected and told Twitter mgmt to start implementing.

So Twitter has 6 months to turn in the shredder machines and go to town?!
Or 6 months to hire Hilldog to come wipe the Twitter servers clean!!

He’s got screw everything money. It won’t matter what anyone says to him.

This doesn't mean that it will be 6 months before they open the door to any of the new owners. There will be transition teams in to analyze everything to start the preparations.

I have noticed that when I go to a twitter link I can read more than a couple of replies
But I signed up for an account yesterday but don’t know how to use it

My guess is that a few "switches" are being built in at the moment.
I'd also guess that a part of the purchase contract requires very transparent code turns through the purchase until Elon takes over and beyond. Any undocumented code changes likely have monetary penalties attached. If not, Elon would be an idiot. And the guy is a lot of things but an idiot is not one of them. Neither are his lawyers orchestrating the contract.

Elon didn’t open this can of worms without having a highly trained team and plan ready to achieve the goals he is after. I’m willing to bet that his team has been preparing for months and are infinitely smarter than the clowns working at Twitter.

He is the wealthiest, and possibly the most intelligent businessman on earth...he will be fine.

I'll bet the under on 6 months.

I'll definitely trust the private citizen who puts people in space.

6 months is what they announced and that is what the board told Twitter employees

You might be right. It helps that Elon buying Twitter for altruistic overhaul means the DD will be a little different (and perhaps less crucial) than normal. He's going to tear it down anyway.

they will make damn sure he has no input until after the mid terms
they cannot allow free speech to happen before the election so they can still control the narrative

Yep.
Logs of what was changed in that timeframe will show a lot of the frickery involved.
Someone brought up the Metal Gear stories in relation to this.
In one of the games, the Patriots deleted all references to themselves from databases in order to hide who they were. Problem is that the way they did it made it possible to figure out who got deleted.
Wholesale deletions and scrubbing of logs is more noticeable but does a better job of obfuscating exactly what got changed.
