Dude is a moron and its clear he has major issues that probably extend beyond simply being a cheating scumbag.

You think? Scott didn't fire Orgeron so he could hire his cousin to the baseball team

He's certainly a clear narcissist but I judge no one over the fall of their marriage. Unfortunately it is far too common.

I'm not surprised about the presence of alcohol at a sporting event. Every damn parent tailgate has beer, nearly every coaches office has a postgame ice chest.

It's just part of the culture and is generally fine. Seems the parents getting into a fight should not be cause for his termination but I'm sure there's more background than we will ever know.

Since when is alcohol and people under the influence generally accepted at a high school game?

The LHSAA may even have rules against alcohol at any school venue, in addition to the laws banning alcohol and tobacco from public school campuses

EDIT- 3.1.6 in the LHSAA handbook

In high school? Are you serious? That would be immediate termination at the high school I went to and parents drinking openly would have been a major issue as well. I'm not even sure it was allowed.

Prior to his last game, on senior night, team threw a party. Alcohol was served to the parents who drank too much and had a massive fight in the stands during the game. Was facing an LHSAA suspension, Holy Cross instead terminated him.

Jesuit parents have more class

Is Lou Carboni still ambulatory? Does HC need to go back to Da Parish and hit up Rebel and Versailles and even Carolyn Park like the old days?

d In the 70s and 80s depending, you could even get beer at the concession stand. I remember as a kid, the Dad's would all have few beers watching us kids play even in HS. The difference was, our parents did not become assholes when they drank and the parents policed each other.

Oh please. Even at Chalmette back in the early 80s for the game against HC the parents would knock back a few. But back then the HC dads and Chalmette dads were most probably friends and probably neighbors in some cases. I know the brothers didn't give two shits about it so long as everyone was behaving.

We ain't our parents. And that's a bad thing.

I am a former coach/AD at a private catholic school. I can promise you there is alcohol consumed in the parking lots, ice chests, and yeti cups all across the venue.

Hell, I've stood on the sidelines watching a game with a yeti cup full of beer many times

Even though I don’t care at all about Louisiana High School sports, I click the threads on here strictly to read what he posts and sometimes if there’s a cross town rival pissing match

Hell, as an HC alum I can tell you I was on the sidelines at a game against Jesuit over 40 years ago and I was watching 2 older brothers and the President of Jesuit on the sidelines enjoying a drink during a game in the Dome.

My experience was over 15 years ago but I can hardly imagine the men who support HS sports through untolled hours of volunteering suddenly decided to be dry.

Drinking a beer with the people who make it possible for the kids to create memories is one of my fondest thoughts of my time as an AD.
