Good lord you have a bad definition of “woke.” Woke would be if Spider-Man were tortured and killed, then a back, trans Mary Jane put on the suit and inherited his powers.

I don’t think you you have any earthly idea what the term woke means if you are applying it to a character in a comic being brutally murdered.

Uh, aren't we using woke in the wrong context. I thought woke was about demasculating male characters in order to make women the heros. But in this case, we have MJ being killed, which will likely make Spiderman, a straight white male, go apeshit to avenge her honor.

This isn't being "woke", it's what happens when you spend decades over-milking a cash cow. For decades he's had multiple books running at the same time (at one point I think there were 4 separate Spiderman comics in print at the same time, and that's not counting guest appearances). You can kill off Aunt May, face the reborn Green Goblin or have some clone/symbiote issue only so many times before people demand something new.
