LOL, Ukraine has ALWAYS been Russian. Crack any Russian history text, and chapter one is literally “Kievan Rus”.

Kievan Rus was not Russian. They were Kievan Rus.

The Ukrainian people have *never* considered themselves part of Russia or Russian.

I rent a house in a rich, liberal neighborhood, where the neighbors fly Ukraine, BLM, and pride flags but look down upon the rather tame (relatively speaking) public housing.

I like to frick with people, feign ignorance, and say something like, “Must be a lot of Rams fans in the neighborhood, celebrating the Super Bowl win with all these flags.”

Where do these idiots come from? Ukraine was Russia until the Bolsheviks.

And went back to being under Russian rule within 8 months until 1991.

The name “Ukraine” quite literally means “borderland”

Ethnic-Russian is the second largest ethnic group in the country and comprises a majority along Ukraine’s eastern border.

Since Russia invaded in 2014. Funny that.

At least you understand Ukrainians are not, and have never been, Russian.

Peaked at three. We’re down to one, but someone has added a yard sign, so I’ll say 1.5.

No. For centuries.

Prior to 1991, Ukrainians have been under Russian governance for centuries outside of an 8 month period in 1918.

If you are arguing that the 70+% of ethnic-Ukraine that reside in the Ukraine are not ethnic-Russian, then okay. But they have historically been under Russian rule and to extol otherwise is nonsense.

It would be like Texas seceded and in twenty years claiming that they have never considered themselves Americans.

You're making the same argument that Poland is basically German because they've been under German (Prussian) rule from the late 1700's until WWI.

The Polish people are not Germans. The Ukrainian people are not Russians.

Again, I've been to Ukraine. I've talked to Ukrainians. Have you?
