The Saints recently sent quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Ronald Curry to see Pickett’s pro day and Pickett also met with the Saints at the Senior Bowl and the Scouting Combine.

If there is ever a year to pass on our “QB of the future” I hope it’s this one… but who knows

If they were really interested they wouldn’t have sent Curry

I guess we can forget "Pickett's charge" as any kind of nickname...

People keep saying this but the bottom line is that drafting a QB is a crap shoot. Sometimes highly rated guys flame out. Sometimes lower rated guys turn out to be great. I think the situation these QB’s come into are a major factor in their success and the Saints have a good culture where a young QB can be successful.

I really feel like the extra first is all about receiver.

So many teams are going after receivers this year.

Jets, cowboys, saints, and packers.

Do they? What young QBs that we drafted in the last 15 years turned out successful? Hell, which one turned out even adequate?

I would argue we have never shown the ability to develop a young QB. We have shown that if we get a developed QB we can build around them and keep them happy.

That would be fine if we had a first rounder available next year. At this point, it looks like our options are either rolling with Jamies for the next 3 years, or reaching for a QB this year.

Kenny Pickett sounds like the name of a successful NFL QB. Also think he looks the part - just wish he was a little more of a physical specimen.

What teams “develop a young qb” into anything worth a shite when they’re not early draft picks?

I really hope they don’t go QB this year. There isn’t a standout guy.
It feels like such a half measure. Go get a WR and O-line and let’s rock.

It would be either curry or pete.

Curry played qb and is the QB coach. Will supposedly have more say in the offense.

He’s never been more than a WR coach before last year. If they were serious about Pickett they’d send the whole force

Or they’re already serious about him and don’t wanna blow their coverage by sending the whole force.

When he gets sacked we can say
Oh my god, they killed Kenny

With thy pick in thine nfl draft, thy saints picketh Sir pickett
