I have no problem with Pickett at 16 or 19...would melt if we packaged picks to move up for him. I do hope their is a run on QBs before us, so a stud OT or WR drop to us. Would love to see Kyle Hamilton slide down to us at 16

For me I'm hoping they use the two first rounders on the best WR and OT available at each pick.

He’s never been more than a WR coach before last year. If they were serious about Pickett they’d send the whole force

So that means he adds nothing of value? You also realize he’s our passing game coordinator this year, right? Curry going doesn’t mean nothing. I doubt it tips out hand in favor of Pickett over the other guys but Curry is going to be heavily involved in the offense

And he obviously had some success with Payton by shaping up Jameis

one scared team takes him in the top 10 and one more player falls.

This is how the game is played. Teams outside of the top 2 or 3 rarely if ever publicly talk about who they are angling for in the draft.

You can count on anybody they're "hot" on or "targeting" as being a player they are trying to get other teams to trade up to get so they they're real target player falls to them, or at least falls to a spot they can trade up to get him.

To me, in my unprofessional experience, it feels like the Saints will use the 2 firsts to trade up and get a Left Tackle if one falls far enough to allow them to move up. If not they may get a WR and a OT at 16 & 19 (But I doubt they keep both 1sts) and target a QB in the 2nd or 3rd.

I believe they are committed to Winston for the 2022 season as the starter (Pending his rehab) and he's earned it. Dalton is a good insurance policy and a QB like Carrol, Strong or Ridder (All or none of which may be on the board at 49) would make good sense to develop for a year or two. But I just can not see using a first at 16 or even trading (2) 1sts for any of the QB's in this draft.

What teams “develop a young qb” into anything worth a shite when they’re not early draft picks?

Raiders
Cowboys
Seahawks (Wilson gone now)
49ers (Kapernick)
Packers (Rodgers not a “early pick” per se)

Not saying I want Pickett but it isn’t impossible to develop a decent QB to at least make run

You don't give up 3- 1st round picks for a LT even if he's the next Willie Roaf.

Unless the Saints pull a rabbit out their arse with an extra Round 1 pick this draft, they do not need to be wasting a pick on a developmental QB when their two most glaring needs on offense are at OT and WR. I really wish this "Saints need a QB" talk would die down...Winston is the guy for next season, and next year's QB class has better choices if he doesn't pan out.

If they were really interested they wouldn’t have sent Curry

Who would they send?

There isn't a coach on this team that has developed a QB. I personally hope we take OT and WR with the first rd draft picks.

This team is fricked when it comes to QB unless Winston continues doing good. I say that because we wanted Watson over him. Book is a project and Payton is no longer here. I don't trust this staff to coach up a QB.

Saints are playing chess while others are playing checkers. We would not have extended Winston and signed Andy Dalton if we were going to draft a QB in the first round. Saints are acting interested in a guy they have no interest in for a team before us to have FOMO and grab him. Have a couple of those and there will be studs at OT and WR sitting there at 16 and 19

If I'm the Saints I'm spending some cash to pump the talk for all the top QB's. Fill the room with as much smoke as possible because every QB takin ahead of us pushes another stud player down the draft.

That’s kind of the point. The offensive staff is underwhelming but you would at least think Carmichael & Ireland would be there if they were truly serious. Not a journeyman WR coach

It's hard to see any QB in draft is better than Winston. I think so far is our future. 4 and 1 last year is tough pass up. We have 2 picks to build around him. LT and WR will give him a boost.
