I didn’t realize it was a Lisfranc injury until I saw this tweet this morning. Glad to see he recovered. Those can be tough to recover from

It goes to show you how terrible his Dad handled this.

If the injury is reported early on and he comes out “upset” that he can’t battle with his team he gets zero of the criticism he received.

Instead, his Dad goes public demanding respect and saying he’ll pulll the plug in the season.

His Dad needs to step away and let his son and smarter people run his PR for him.

I don't think any reasonable person doubts that each injury can be different.
But does anybody know when he was first injured and when he first had surgery on it?
He was either AWOL or playing at less than full speed the last two seasons.
Without those facts, people are engaging in complete speculation.

In 2020 he sprained his ankle in the 2nd quarter of the Mizzouri game (week 3) but finished the game. He was limping a fair amount the rest of the game and clearly not 100%. He continued to start the next 5 games so it must not have been a major sprain. There’s no way of really knowing how much the injury affected him at the time, but he was definitely playing through an injury weeks 3-8.

Then he got a concussion against Arkansas (week 8) on a punt return. He did not return to that game and didn’t play against Florida or Ole Miss week 10. I think I recall him being a limited participant at practice at some point, but I don’t know if anyone ever formally acknowledged exactly why he was out both games.

In 2021, the foot injury reportedly happened in practice the week of the Mississippi State game (week 4). He didn’t play against MSU and then ultimately had the Lisfranc surgery as we all know.

You can only really say he was “healthy” for the following games in 2020 and 2021:
2020 Vanderbilt
2021 UCLA
2021 McNeese State
2021 Central Michigan

The rest of the games in 2020, we know he was fighting a “nagging” ankle injury. Again it had to be a minor sprain, but those injuries can be a problem when you continue to play on them. Just no way to know how much it really affected him on the field.

Most disappointing LSU player in recent memory. Sorry but truth hurts. I hope this type of attitude never sees the field under BK. Drain the swamp from the Miles+Orgeron era, it's time for a complete overhaul in team culture. T first and no I or get the **** out.

Damn. I knew it was a rough surgery but had no idea it was that long. Is that longer than the average ACL recovery nowadays in professional sports?

The usual recovery for an NFL player is 11 months you frickin goober

Perhaps there are different degrees of the injury. A friend had this injury. Ligament was completely torn. Surgery was not outpatient. One night in the hospital. Screws and pins. Pain was bad for several weeks. Had to be propped in bed with the foot above the heart for two weeks straight, so he lost a lot of strength during that time and while in the cast and boot. Casted after two weeks. Surgery was in early October. PT lasted through May of the following year and my friend still wasn't close to 100%

Indeed there are 4 Grades to this injury. Initial swelling can be a predictor but ultimately MRI tells all. This is the injury Matt Mauck had IIRC. Grade 2 I believe. Happened in the FL game in October 2002 and had surgery a week later. He was out the rest of the year and limited in the Spring after having the surgery. We all know how he did in 2003.

With DB’s, the problem with lower extremity injuries is the effect they can have on the athlete’s speed. IIRC, Chad Jones ran a 4.57 40 at the Combine (or Pro Day). After his injury, it was more like 4.9 or 5.0. If Stingley’s speed is affected, it will hurt his stock. If not, he will go high in the first.

I mean hes going to test well but his tape from the last two years was pretty bad. Glad hes healthy and hope he turns it on and has a fantastic career. But the effort and competitive drive was non existent the past two seasons and I blame O for a lot of that but he still has to answer those questions to GMs and Coaches who see that on film.

If he tests well he will easily be a top 10 pick. It’s really that simple. You can try and make pudding in your brain with all the “bad play” you saw out of him, but it doesn’t matter

You not in this thread? The fans are still saying he is soft, quit, etc etc even knowing about the injury right now

Will probably be the deciding factor on if he goes top 10 or late first round.

I've been seeing him dropped out of top 10 and often the third CB selected.

Because unlike our brain trust fanbase, nfl gms knew he was injured and know the potential severity

Stingley needs a good showing to get back in the top 10

I do not see him being a top 10 pick. He will get drafted in the first round and probably in the top 20 but that does not take away the fact that he put bad play on film from the last two seasons.

A Lisfranc injury with a reported 6 month timeline, combined with a public expression of regret would have held the day.

I do agree our fans by and large are idiots.
