I wish I knew someone that was super into masks that I could ask, but everyone I know gave up a long time ago, even my more progressive friends

My first thought never has anything to do with the mask because that doesn't have an impact on me. That's not to say it doesn't ever cross my mind, but I have fully reverted back to normal issues like assholes walking in the middle of the aisle of a parking lot or store aisle rather than the side.
6-18 months ago, the mask thing was when I thought, "cuck."

I assume they have a respiratory issue or some other personal reason why they are doing it. I also assume it means they are free to decide for themselves without being harassed.

Some of my customers still require masks indoors (particularly in conference rooms or control rooms). It’s pretty hard to keep up with every single company’s policy when they change every other week. So if I’m walking into a customer’s building I usually wear one unless I know for a fact that they aren’t required. If I see that nobody else is wearing them, I take it off. OTOH, if the person I’m meeting with is wearing a mask I’ll keep it on.

People will usually tell me “you don’t have to wear that” fairly quickly if it’s not required.

It takes a pretty big douche to see a vendor rep walk in with a mask on and think “cuck” when that vendor is simply trying to do his job and comply with your company’s policies.

Is drawing specific conclusions about people's personal health conditions more or less harassing than simply pondering for a second why they might doing something?

The people who insist on still wearing them yet don't wear them properly blows my mind and I irrationally hate them.

There's a guy that works at a nearby small grocery store by my office, he's worn his mask for a good solid 6 months now on his chin. Not even covering atleast his mouth, he's king of the mask morons.

Playing the advocate here...but is it a policy there still? Maybe as long as it is on his face, his supervisors don't bitch at him. If it's his personal choice to wear it, then yeah he's an idiot.

For me it’s usually “cuck.”

Pretty common still in Atlanta. Notice it more in certain parts of town over others.

Nothing... I do not worry about things that do not impact me.

Then again, I'm not easily triggered.

3 thoughts:

1. What a brainwashed stupid motherfricker.
2. What if that person has cancer or an autoimmune disorder and is being extra careful?
3. Nope, most likely a fricking idiot.

This. One of the first hints that this was never about public health was the fact that health experts and leaders never worried about you wearing a dirty mask. Just wear the damn mask!!!
The worst is when I had to wear someone else’s back 18 months ago because I forgot mine. It would gross me out.

Even if I was wearing my own and I’d put it on knowing it hadn’t been washed in a while. Just an overall gross experience all around.

Most black peeps I see still wear one. Not sure if it's political or health or not vaccinated and trying not to get covid.

I don't care anymore as long as I don't or some m'fer comes at me telling me to wear one.

I think they probably have a weak immune system. I don't care tho, asians have been wearing masks since long before covid was a thing. I'd just rather build my immune system to be stronger than wear a mask
