I don’t get the fascination with Disney. People act like they have to sell their right nut just to get to go.

Were you wearing a mask or were you actively trying to give them Covid?

My wife has the itch to go back to Disney as well. Our youngest is 8 and we haven’t been in about 5-6 years. Every time one of these threads show up, I send it to her to show that the Disney Parks have gone downhill and aren’t worth the huge expense they are charging.

If I had a dime for every Disney thread in the last 3 weeks I'd have like 86 dimes

They have jacked up prices and are still overflowing. What's their incentive to put in more effort on the state of the product?

I don’t know about that. Universal is legit though.

for half the price

This is definitely not true. Tickets for both start at $109 for a daily park ticket.

Disney is overrated and stupid expensive. I understand going once with young kids. But the people who continuously go blow my mind.

I'm turning into a grumpy old man I think.

My first reaction was wtf? Why not take the family to places like the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, and the Redwood forests instead? Hell, take the family to a bunch of different baseball stadiums or boating trips.

Those things are just so much more memorable and meaningful than flipping Disney crap. Hell, the corporation you'd be paying probably despises you and would scold you for your political beliefs.

Yeah…definitely a lot more litter in the parks

Just got back a few days ago from there. During business hours the workers seemed to be on top the litter and cans. After 5-6 or so I did not see anyone picking anything up. The only cans I saw full was food areas at the peak food times.

It's funny to see this thread as the earlier one is what brought me out of lurking on the O-T.

Disney is horrible now. Ever since they got rid of the fastpass (the paper ones, not the bracelets) it has been on an accelerating decline. Epcot is probably the worst park to see it happen at. Getting rid of the Maelstrom and putting a "Frozen" ride in its place was appalling. (Am I the only one here who remembers the awesome mural they had? I will try and attach a pic of it.)

Test track got ruined too. I remember the General Motors sponsorship and how cool the old intro video was with the '90s cars, now it is just a "Tron" ride. They also largely eliminated the France movie which was a superb film and replaced it with a Beauty and Beast movie.

The scary thing is that people still line up and crowd in at astronomical prices and will let themselves get ripped off by Genie Plus and the Lightning Lane scam. I'm just glad I was able to visit the parks growing up in the 2000s. Link should be the mural pic I was talking about.

Is this really a big deal?

Who cares if someone dressed up as a character or some kid with a name tag doesn’t say goodbye ?

It was fun and with it to go to Disney when the kids were little. But that was like 7-8 years ago. Really a perfect weeklong family vacation. Now though, considering reports like yours and multiple others like it coupled with the seven figure bill for a family of five to go stay at any of their better resorts for a week, it’s no longer worth it.

I hope they reverse course so by the time I have grandkids I can take them. But I’m not holding my breath.

The one statement that sums it up is you were there with your family spending money.

As long as people are there and packing the place, no one cares.

If people want better quality and less people then honestly it seems like they need to raise the price even more.

Road trips are ALWAYS a blast. Never have any trouble there.

Not really. National Parks are fun for an hour or two and then it’s just boring.

Then again I live out in the country, why would I pay to go see someone else’s woods?

It’s literally the same ride with a Frozen coat of paint on it.

Lol no they didn’t the France movie is still there. They added a separate Beauty and the Beast singalong.

There’s plenty to legitimately criticize the parks about (Genie+ is a failure, the worker quality has gone down) so I don’t know why people feel the need to criticize them on stupid stuff. I remember some idiot said he didn’t want to go to the park with his grandkids because they didn’t keep all the same rides from his childhood in the 70s. That’s just stupid.
