Yes, way more than half of the state's GDP comes from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette alone. That's not counting the Lake Charles or coastal areas.

The Southern part of the state produces most of the revenue, but probably even more of the expenses. The northern part of the state produces significantly less, but also costs even less.
