I'm not worried about the last shot the best offense we'd had was a offensive rebound.
But the piss poor play up that point was infuriating

It was the same exact play. The corner defender did not sink quickly or decisively and Waters when to the hole.
I’ve already seen it. As I stated we were tied in that scenario. I didn’t say it was a different play.

Eason is by far our best player. A good shooter and very good at driving to the goal and we ran a play to not even let him touch the ball.

He was in the play, he ran the pick and pop action on the screen for Pinson to start the play his man just went under and covered him. You people really have no clue what you’re watching.

Do you think SC actually set their D to prevent Eason ftom besting them? Why the nerve.

We got a good open look just didn’t knock it down.

They don't understand basketball bro. They're just going to downvote you and scream that we should have posted up Eason.
These goons come out after every loss but are nowhere to be found after wins

It’s really best not to get into debates this soon after a loss. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to watch the last few, I’ve only been able to listen. So I can’t really give any good input.
I will say a wide open 3 from someone shooting well from outside isn’t bad. Also consider Martin isn’t new. I guarantee they were playing 1 to deny Eason. and 2 stop the pinson drive. Seems they won that possession, and thus the game.

He has two options that depend on corner defenders response. If he sinks to stop the drive you kick to Days and if he doesn’t you go to hole. Corner man sunk kicks to Days and unfortunately he missed.
So getting the ball to your stud Eason isn’t a play? Get out of here!

Do you believe SC was going get out of our way and let us dunk the ball? We had 15 seconds, got a good look and a chance to rebound snd put it back in.
We had 22 FTs and they had 22 FTs. We made 13 and they made 17 and you are gonna act like that last play beat us?
Posted on 2/19/22 at 5:25 pm to I-59 Tiger
13-22 FT compared to their 17-22 FT is the real problem.

The last shot was not fine. We were down 1 with 15 seconds left. Days throwing up a 3 from the corner is never ok. Give it to Eason inside and you get 2 points or 2 free throws. The uneducated fans logic will not work with this disaster of a play call.
Refs don’t love to call fouls in that spot. Particularly, if this board is to be believed, in favor of LSU. SC was going to try to take away Eason. And LSU shot less that 60% from the line today
As a general rule I don’t love a 3 down 1. But if it is your senior, who had 18 points, was 57% from three on the day to that point, and who got a wide open look? I’m fine with that shot. The board would be calling Days a “legend” if he hit it.
Bitch about a lot of the dumb things they did all game to leave SC in it. Not the final shot

How higher percentage was it for Gaines to go rogue and put a 98% foul shooter on the line?
And he comes back in the game, Most quality coaches woulda put his arse on the bench. Guess what few minutes later he does some more bullshite and gives them 2 more FT’s.
That’s what I’m most pissed at.

Agreed. Didn't have a problem with the last called play other than I want more size in the game for the possible rebound. Eason and Murray didn't cut it.

Low percentage 3 when we only needed a two. Should have played for a higher percentage shot.
Started too late. I learned in peewee basketball to start a last play at 13-13 seconds - that gives you a shot and a potential rebound (maybe even 2).
There was only one option - there should have been at least two.
We never set picks except at the top of the circle.
We have no set plays and no semblance of a half-court offense.
Wilkinson does not belong on the court when we need offense.
None of our guys box out - as a matter of fact almost the whole team launches back to play defense as soon as the shot goes up.
Drive and dish, give and go, pick and roll. These are basics of offensive basketball and they need to be drilled and practiced. Our guys have no clue.
I'm sorry, Wade is not a good coach. He is a good recruiter and maybe a good motivator, but he does not coach fundamental basketball at all.

The problem is that LSU wasted most of the 15+ seconds they had standing and then dribbling one on one. Would have been nice to have the other guys running around setting screens to see if the defense screws up.
Of course if you just run the simple drive and kickout right away you have 6 or 7 seconds on the clock if there is a miss. Time enough for a legit second shot instead of a prayer.
