Caribbean for over 50 couple

Didn't want to bump someone else's thread, and I do not regularly read this board. So, the SO and I plan on a very small wedding then a trip. I talked her out of the bungalows over the water thing in the Pacific due to the travel. I see Sandals has one of those in Jamaica, but I do not see much positive discussion here of Sandals in general. Never been other than a Carnival cruise to Mexico, so not even sure what to ask or what to prioritize. So, looking for:
Pretty water/sand with shallow water like you see on a post card(Turks and Caicos?) Can't emphasize this enough.
Old people friendly
Ease of travel would be pretty big too
What should we be looking at?

Important question: what's the budget?
Do you want to just look at the pretty water and wade, or do you want to snorkel or fish or sail, etc?
How important is the food quality?

Hedonism. You're at the age where its acceptable to start swinging.

Harbour island has great pink sand beaches and water. some good food as well. can do airbnb or stay at the Dunmore, pink sands, or coral sands which are all boutique type hotels.
can fly there from atlanta, miami, charlotte. Only problem with travel is taking a 5 minute boat taxi from the airport to the island.

check out isla mujeres. Mia reef or any resort on the north shore.

Check out St. Barths. It will tick all of those boxes.
Travel wise it’s not hard to get to, but not easy. Fly into SXM and then a super cool puddle jumper to St. Barths. Rent a car and a bungalow up in the hills.

Aruba would also be an option.

Cayman Islands is what you seek
- Easy to get to
- Beautiful clear water
- Not a 3rd world country and very safe
- Very laid back and not the young party crowd
- Great food scene and plenty of activities

Agreed. For that many people, I would also suggest Aruba, due to it being 1st world, and can easily handle that many guests with it's high rises. Water is spectacular, and several really good restaurants.

I think he meant over 50 in age, not number.

Two thoughts:
Sandals-Grenada
Didn't stay there, but did go to Grenada for a week with the family and loved it. We dined and spent the better part of the day right next doo at at the Aquarium Restaurant. Lovely beaches. I'd consider going back and staying there in the future.
My "bucket list place" when money is not object would be Petit St. Vincent.

Lots of great suggestions so far but based on your stated criteria:
I would consider one of the US territories, and more specifically Puerto Rico. Other places in the Caribbean have nicer resorts but ease of travel and convenience (direct flight for many US airports and shuttle ride, no customs, no boats or arranging other transportation) can't be beat. That said, I haven't been since Hurricane Maria and I know a lot of the island is still suffering. But I'm sure the high-end resorts are fine.
Other option for ease of travel is one of the Mexican resorts.

St. John
Just got back from St Thomas yesterday. We took a day trip to St John and it was beautiful. Spent the afternoon at Trunk Bay.
I didn't realize that 2/3 of St John is national park. It was just pristine for the most part.
We saw quite a few older couples on the beach.

Amazing what that 'S' does to the title.

No, because of their Covid restrictions. Got to look at that before anything else.
