Aaron donald takes 3 players to block him.

Bob Sanders for the Colts was always a what if type player. He was spectacular when he was healthy, but unfortunately the injuries derailed his career quickly.

Is there a difference between the best “playmaking LB” and the “best” LB?
Seems if one was the best play making LB in NFL history, he’d also be the best LB in NFL history.
Not sure what distinction you are making.

I also don’t get why he’s factoring in “best play making” with regards to a list titled “best NFL defensive players” not “best play making NFL defensive players”. He clearly sees a distinction between the two but for some reason is changing the criteria for that one position.

An LBs worth has long been tied to just tackles.
Buddy m was already trying to say Zach Thomas was better than Urlacher.
He didn’t get 150 tackles every year like Thomas but he made more impactful plays throughout games than Zach ever did.

Ed Reed is the GOAT defensive back.

Ed Reed was not even the best Safety to come out of Miami in the 2000's.

Watt is not far off from what Donald is, the only difference is health. He’s probably the second best defensive player of the last 20 years behind Donald.
Again:
Smith, bruce.

yeah I don't like the 30 year cut off but in no order...
Aaron Donald
Ed Reed
Reggie White
Champ Bailey
Ray Lewis (begrudgingly, he's a piece of shite)

This list starts with Reggie White, tGOAT DL.

Bob Sanders.
If only he had been more healthy anyway.
