Why do companies spend so much on Super Bowl ads if watching a screen has no effect?

Violent video games and movies are different than commercials somehow, right?

Because over and over we are told that entertainment media has no effect on behavior.

While at the same time seeing companies spend millions for seconds long commercials that are supposed to influence behavior.

Are you really unable to answer the question?

Tell me why a 30 second commercial can influence behavior but a 2 hour movie can’t. Do it.

Why do networks pay the NFL so much for Monday night football when they lose money on it?

Yes. A commercial can convince me to buy something, because you know, buying something when money I earned is not illegal.

A commercial nor movie can not convince me to kill someone. You know, because that is very illegal.

Any other questions?

Because one is complete and total fiction who’s entire design is to entertain while the others is reality who’s entire design is to influence you’re decision making

Because bringing awareness about a product a company is trying to sell you is completely different from playing video games.

You are adding to my point.

That is a mostly fiction medium, and has demonstrable effects on viewers’ psyches.

Well, technically, they're blaming the statues in those video games...

So you're telling me that after you see a violent movie or video game you feel the need to act violent in real life?

because informing customers your product even exists is kinda important if you want to sell it to them.
doing so in a way that they remember (like a clever ad) helps out a lot too.

The legality of something has nothing to do with it, and I’m pretty sure people can be persuaded by visual media.

But go on. People aren’t killing people because they are playing video games, they are killing people because they live in a culture of death with no responsibility.

Look at rap videos. Young, low iq thuglets are definitely convinced that senseless violence is a viable path via exposure to those.
