About 90 minute drive.

Munich is less than two hours away.

When will you get there and for how long?

Tyrol is a beautiful place.

I have spent a lot of time in Fieberbrunn and can give you a lot advice on that area.

Explore the Italian Dolomites. I have been to Innsbruck once. We spent the night there after a day in the Dolomites. The next day we took a very scenic route to St. Moritz. Innsbruck is a nice little town but I did not spend enough time there to have a lot of recs. We went to the cathedral and climbed the clock tower at city hall. Maximillian’s golden roof is famous but that just takes a minute. The memory we joke about now was when I was walking down the street and encountered my wife coming out of the big Swarovski crystal store with her arms loaded with shopping bags No thought to how we were going to carry all that stuff home. Impressive showroom though.

I liked Madhuban Restaurant, can get some really spicy indian food there.

It's very easy and inexpensive to get around that part of Europe by train. Take a ride up to Munich and spend a weekend walking around old town. Also Vienna is pretty cool, I love the old school cafes with green velvet seats. A great way to spend saturday AM.

You’ll love it. If I remember correctly the entire city is surrounded by the alps. Almost as if it’s at the bottom of a bowl or something. Which means no matter where you look you are staring at snow capped, beautiful mountains. It’s something you have to see in person in order to really soak it in.

Was only there for a few days but I’ll never forget it. One of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen. It’s been since 2009 but I recall Innsbruck having a much stronger old world vibe than say, Munich which was a bit north. Only place where having some decent conversational German really came in handy. Our hotel clerks only spoke German but we got by.

Downtown is really neat. The golden roof place is kinda the hub if I recall correctly. Great bars and other things to do just right around that area. Very jealous and I know you’ll have a blast.

If you enjoy a hike, head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (where they held the Winter Olympics one year) and hike the gorge. It is beautiful and there is a restaurant on top of the mountain at the end of the hike. I swear it was the best beer I have ever had.

Slovenia is also a cool, affordable country with a nice national park.

My experience is that the train is pretty good in Austria, places like Salzburg should be easy. You could also use bahn.de for Munich.

The Mieders Rodelbahn is close by car.

About an hour away is Garmisch which has the Zugspitze, Lake Eibsee, Partnach Gorge in Germany.

Right in the AT, CH, IT border area is Lake Resia. Lots of hikes, boating, biking stuff to do there.

Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Vienna, Salzburg.

If I had to do one, it’d easily be Vienna.

I did the UNO semester program a number of years ago was there about 4-5 months. Innsbruck is a great little city the old town bars and restaurants are great. Go to Munich its a quick train ride and you can get a late train back. Munich is also close enough that it's easy to fly out of. South Tyrol is great as well and a quick trip. Zurich is an easy trip as well. You can fly to some decent places as well out of Innsbruck but the options drop after winter. You can find white water rafting and all of the stuff you can do in Interlaken much cheaper pretty close.

LINK This place above the city great view great traditional food.

Went about 20 years ago on the UNO college program. Absolutely incredible city. Do Cinque Terre one weekend.
