Like actually started at Genesis 1:1 and read through the whole Bible. I know Baptists have a lot more Bible study than Catholics, but I’m not sure I know more than a handful of people who I would guess have read through the entire Good Book.

I’m beginning a new chapter (pun intended) in my life and thought about starting “In the beginning”.

Yes. I have read the Bible starting from the beginning a few times, but I have never finished it.

yeah I got to like Psalm, and was like "yeah I'm good." Reading the gospels in parallel is a good exercise.

If you haven't read much of it at all, I suggest doing new testament first. I tried to start with Genesis, only got a few books in before jump to the new stuff. Almost done with that, then back to where I left off.

Yeah. Old testament is a bear tho.

ETA

And for clarity, I don't believe it is the divine word of God. But I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It is hard to believe people believe that shite is real.

The best way to read it is to read the OT parallel with the NT.

It’s got some rather juicy stories. Murder, conquest, intrigue, betrayal.
Then the saucy bits by Solomon.

Yes, multiple versions. I like the English Standard Version (ESV) the best.

ESV has a dedicated website. You can also find the ESV on a really neat website called "Bible Gateway". That site will actually allow you to put multiple versions side by side so that you can compare the interpretation of the scripture as well.

Once and on Psalms on my second time. Leviticus and Numbers are probably the toughest

Numerous times more than 5 but less than 10 probably. I love a good story but if I’m going to believe in shite like that then I’m going to Fiddlers Green when I die.

Yes, twice. It’s not easy but worth the effort.
